FABRIC LASER CUTTER

We utilize our in-house fabric laser cutter not only for our production purposes but for outside companies as well. Compared to traditional pattern cutting, the laser allows us to cut costs by taking advantage of the faster cutting, higher precision, and better utilization of otherwise scrap fabric. The laser also is much more precise and seals the fabric edges. The table has a built-in conveyor which enables it to cut, convey, and keep on cutting, drawing from a roll of fabric. With this ability, we are not confined to the 8.5 foot (2.59 m) length of the table and can cut much longer patterns. We can cut fabric up to 60 inches (1.52 m) wide which is the typical width of a roll of fabric. Other capabilities of the laser cutter include etching and cutting many other types of materials such as leather, wood, plastic, metal, rubber, and more.

- Efficient, accurate, time saving - Minimizes waste material - Large format cutting

DYE-SUBLIMATION

Dye-sublimation printing is a superior printing process compared to laser, inkjet, or screen printing. The process is made up of two parts. The first in which the design is printed using special dye-sub inks onto special heat transfer paper. In the second step, the printed roll of paper is placed through the dye-sub heat press machine in which printed paper and fabric are heated to 390* F (199* C). The heat changes the solid ink into a gas and the ink gas is embedded into the fibers of the fabric. This creates a printed fabric is durable and will never fade, washout, or bleed. The printed fabric also retains all of its properties after the printing process. Through different temperatures and running speeds, we can print all of our polyester and nylon fabrics. There is no limit on the number of colors or the complexity or quality of the design. With its ability to perfectly hold color under extreme conditions this makes dye-sublimation printing a perfect choice for outdoor fabrics.

Our fabric slitter can cut rolled goods such as plastics, vinyl, PVC-polyester, cloth, etc. even adhesives. (NO wood, metal, or the like). The cutting dimensions are material-dependent but generally accepted dimensions are lengths from 1/2" to 11' + and diameters from 3" to 13" (dependent upon core size). NO solid material ONLY thin flexible materials rolled unto a core. This service allows for savings by purchasing the full roll of fabric and cutting to the necessary dimensions.

We have a top of the line CNC milling machine which we can use for prototyping and finishing. This enables us to have control of our quality and our turnaround time. Our machine operator who is experienced in AutoCAD to turn your ideas into products. Our cutting table is 18 inches (46 cm) by 11 inches (28 cm). We focus on prototyping and are able to do small and medium sized runs.

PRINTING CNC & FABRIC SLITTING - Imbeded into fabric fibers - Never fades, washes out, or runs - No limit on color or image quality - Prototyping with CAD software - Finishing of rough cut items - Ability to produce and cut anything - Cutting rolls and removal of selvage

DutchWare equals quality, and nowhere is that more obvious than in the equipment we use to assure that what you have purchased was tested rigorously. We have a fabric tear tester, a waterproof tester, and finally, a rolled good pull strength tester. Beyond our own testing, we also have independent tests done to make sure that we can stand by our own results. Lastly, we inspect our incoming materials along with the finished goods produced on our factory floor. When customers place orders, we give them a total weight on their packing slip. We weigh each order and if that order is not within 20 grams, the order is taken apart to find out why. This helps make sure each customer gets the correct product and highest quality.

The makings of DutchWare began in 2003, when our founder, Thom Ressler, also known by his trail name Dutch, thru-hiked the entire 2,200-miles of the Appalachian Trail with a hammock. During his journey, Dutch learned to take a minimalist approach to hiking gear and life in general. Creating hardware for hammocks was where Dutch found his passion. Creating pieces for tarp and hammock susupension, and everthing in between.

Most commercial vendors, however, didn’t offer hiking gear that shared Dutch’s passion for stripping away anything that wasn’t needed. In response, Dutch started making his own gear. He created hammocks, backpacks, quilts, and hardware for the hammock community.

At DutchWare, we produce innovative, high-quality products by using a minimalist approach in the equipment’s design our Dutch suspension hardware for hammocks.

We’re also committed to limiting our impact on the environment to be a good steward of the earth. Whenever possible, we use local or U.S. manufacturers along with recycled materials and packaging to produce and deliver your items. We also work towards decreasing our product packaging so we can reduce our waste and lower your shipping costs.

We are proud to partner with powerful brands like Dyneema® and Samson® to offer the outdoor cottage industry and DIY fans the best products available.

We also work with over 140 companies from around the world to provide an impressive selection of outdoor gear.

Our exclusive hammock camping gear, like our Chameleon Hammock and Dutch Clip, is developed and created by our company’s founder, Dutch, with the help of some good friends. And we’re always looking for more ways to find solutions for the hammocking community, whether through DIY hammock camping accessories or gear. E. Walnut
