How To Draw A Face (Reference)

• Sketch Book
• Pencil
• Pen
• Color Pencils (any kind will work)

Here is the list of products that you will need to draw a face which should be extremely helpful since it’s only a few products that you can easily find around your house or at your local store.

Reference
The first thing you need to do when it comes to drawing a face is use a reference. This is the easiest step, mostly because you can find an image of a face anywhere whether is on social media or google with faces of all shapes and sizes.
Step 1: The Circle
When it comes to drawing a face you need to break it down piece by piece, so with that said the first step to drawing a face is a simple circle. When drawing the circle roughly sketch it out to the size of your choice because it not gonna matter if it’s bad it’s gonna get covered up later on anyway.

Step 2: Face Shape
The second step is to then create the actual face shape. With this step, all you want to do is start on either the left or right side and take your pencil and draw a line from the side of the circle and go straight down then pull inward creating the jaw then pull in once again to create the chin. After that is done go to the other side and repeat. After that create two half circles on the side of the face for the cheeks.
Step 4: Facial Features

When it comes to step number four, the best way to tackle the face is by starting with the nose, because it can be used as a guide to where everything can go. So for the nose draw a simple circle then draw to letter c’s that connect to the circle and then add a comma to the c’s and after that just add curved lines to both sides. As for the eyes just draw an almond and draw a small circle in that shape. For the lips just draw a line, for the actual lips just draw two curves then go to the end of each line and connect.
Step 3: Hair
For step number three which is the hair, which like I’ve said before just break it down into simple steps. So when it comes to the hair just go to the outer area and sketch out what you see and get it as close as possible, then go to the inner area and sketch that out as well. When you’re finished with that go in and add the details whether it be a few strands in the face or a hair or two sticking out of place because hair is never perfect.
