CHAIRMAN`S MESSAGE Barry and Angela

Barry Dodd Chairman Tel: 07770956036 Chairman's Message 2020 Dear Centre Members As I start my final year as your Chairman I can only say how proud I have been to lead Durham Centre. Once again we have had a successful year , the highlight of course being our 60th celebration rally in May at Stanhope Showground. With the backing of a superb committee & members volunteering along with over 120 caravans attending it proved to be a great success. This year we have a new Treasurer taking over from Olga and I am sure Linda will settle in very quickly. I would like to wish Olga and her family all the best for the future and thank her for all the good work she has done for the Centre over the last four years. Colin Watkins has also retired from committee and I thank him too for his hard work and commitment to the Centre. Our new committee for 2020 consists of four new members and I wish them well along with existing members who are continuing. Thanks must go to Dave Wilson our Rally Secretary for a very varied rally programme for 2020 including four new venues for which I hope you will support. Our Bank Holiday Rallies look exciting again and we are planning to have two LIVE BANDS perform at the EASTER RALLY so get booked up early. We have two holiday rally's this year UPPER LARGO IN SCOTLAND and FARMER PARRS near BLACKPOOL. The newly formed GOLF COMPETITION will go ahead again this year so contact myself if you wish to take part. When booking rallies please remember to make out your cheques to "CARAVAN and MOTORHOME CLUB DURHAM CENTRE" and write on the reverse which rally it is for. Also when doing a BANK TRANSFER reference the rally too. At this year's Chairman's Rally at SEABURN we are planning to organise a sponsored walk along the seafront for our chosen charity so please ask for sponsor forms if you wish to take part. I would like to thank all advertisers for their support and landowners for allowing us to use their land for us to enjoy our favourite pastime along with Colin Smith for putting this handbook together. Please continue to support your centre & remember to re-register with Durham Centre when renewing your Caravan & Motorhome Club Membership. Angela & Myself look forward to seeing you all on the rally field again this year, our kettle will always be on, and enjoy your rallying in 2020. BARRY DODD

As I start my second year as your rally secretary, I would like to say a big thank you to all our rally marshals and co-marshals who have volunteered to come forward and give up their time to run a rally in 2019, for our Centre Members, I would also like to say a big thank you to all our rally marshals and co-marshals for volunteering to both help Durham Centre and its members to run our weekend rallies, we have this season 3 new weekend venues as well as 2 holiday rallies at Upper Largo, (Scotland) and at Farmer Parrs, in (Fleetwood0 which is a great venue for family's as there is a children's farm on the site as well as a cafĂŠ and restaurant on site, also outside of the site there is a bus stop which takes you into Blackpool, going forward I again want to bring in more new venue's as well as keeping a lot of our popular venues, you will notice we still have a number of rallies where we need rally marshals so please give it some consideration to running one of these venues which in turn helps to keep our centre active. B + E TRAILER TRAINING If you have a driving license held before 1st January 1997, you can legally tow a trailer as long as the combined weight of the vehicle and trailer are under 8.25 tonnes. If your driving license was issued after 1st January 1997 with a standard category B, you can legally tow a trailer as long as the combined weight of the trailer and vehicle towing is under 3.5 tonnes. This includes caravans and horseboxes. With this in mind, Dave Hughes Driver Training are here to help and offer trailer training so that you are confident and prepared to go in for your B+E test which allows you to legally tow any trailer, caravan and horsebox. We will help you prepare by practising off-road reverse manoeuvring, asking vehicle questions, couple and uncoupling exercises then once you feel confident enough, we will send you in for your B+E test at a registered centre. We are more than happy to use your own car and trailer for the test if suitable. Plus if you need refresher training with your caravan and trailer we are more than happy to help you out with this. Here at Trans-Store, we have over 20 years of experience of offering our customers, secure storage for caravans, motorhomes, boats, cars, trailers, catering units and container storage. We are proud to have been the first CASSOA GOLD Award site on Teesside which we have maintained for over 16 years. Our secure storage facility is secured within a steel, robust Palisade fenced compound with a sophisticated, electronic access/egress system using individually assigned electronic key fobs which are purchased when initially booking in. We have manned security on site, 24 hours a day 7 days a week, 365 days of the year and the site is covered by a monitored and recorded CCTV system, and security lighting with entry and exit gates.

All plots are hard standing and numbered ensuring you get the same plot each time you return. Storage is available on a 3,6,9 and 12 month basis which is paid in advance. Payment can be made by cash, card, telephone and standing order & CPA (Continuous Payment Authority).
