WELCOME!

The Durango Arts Center (DAC) is proud to have presented this special event for 29 consecutive years, showcasing the diverse talents of artists and craftspeople who hail from our local region and from across the country. Selected through a competitive juried process, this year DAC is thrilled to have 100 booths offering our festival patrons and community so much to enjoy.

This fundraiser does so many important things for our community, from providing need-based scholarships to students for art and theater programs to maintaining the DAC’s building and operations. The DAC, founded in 1966, serves Durango all year long, to celebrate the healing and connecting power of art, art education, theater and community. DAC programs are for all abilities and all ages.

It is our pleasure to continue the tradition of providing artistic enrichment and improving the quality of life for our locals and those in our region.

As DAC's largest annual fundraiser, the Durango Autumn Arts Festival would not be possible without the continued and incredible support of the many local business sponsors, donors and volunteers who help make this event a high quality special experience for artists, volunteers and guests alike.

Please remember that your membership is so important to the educational programs the DAC provides, and that there is no better way to stay “in the know” about all the wonderful things you can enjoy than becoming a member today!

It is our honor to celebrate another year of Arts and Theatre with our community.

Thank you for joining us, and enjoy the festival!

The Durango Arts Center (DAC) serves as the heart of the community's art scene, offering various art forms, education, and captivating exhibits. Through its youth theater program and art classes, DAC provides invaluable learning experiences not typically offered in schools. As an education enrichment initiative, it fosters a space for young individuals to participate in the arts and connect with like-minded peers.

Spectrum is honored to support DAC through our partnership with Ovation and the Stand for the Arts Campaign.

Festival Highlights

Celebrating 29 years of presenting fine art and fine craft by makers from around the country, this festival takes place amidst the fall colors on quaint East Second Avenue in historic downtown Durango, Colorado. Organized as a benefit event by and for the Durango Arts Center - the region's premiere nonprofit arts organizationproceeds help ensure that the arts are available to all through needsbased scholarships, affordable theatre tickets, and free art exhibits.

There is something for everyone no matter your style or budget. We encourage you, our festival goers, to visit our local restaurants that offer delicious food and beverages, as well as our other generous sponsors. Bottled water is available at minimal cost at DAC’s Information booth. Besides bottled water, stop by the Durango Arts Center Information booth to purchase your own Durango Autumn Arts Festival T-shirt.

This year, browse freely among the many diverse booths ranging from handwoven wool rugs to paintings with an “organic interpretation of our world” to contemporary stained glass windows. There’s also plenty of jewelry and other wearable art to choose from including pieces made from precious and semi-precious gemstones, upcycled materials, fun textiles, genuine leather, and repurposed guitar strings.

The Durango Autumn Arts Festival is proud to be part of the first annual Durango Arts Week. If you want to continue your unforgettable and inspiring arts experience, plan to stay for the entire Durango Arts Week (September 15-24). Enjoy artful exploration that celebrates accessibility, creativity, and diversity. Explore galleries, participate in workshops, connect with artists. And see live performances such as DAC’s production of The Odd Couple (The FEMALE Version). This wonderful play by one of America’s favorite playwrights and television writer Neil Simon will have you roaring with laughter. Doors open at 7:00 pm Saturday with the show starting at 7:30 pm. On Sunday, doors open at 1:30 pm with show starting at 2 pm. See more of this and other upcoming Theatre events on page 10.

“Art is unquestionably one of the purest and highest elements in human happiness. It trains the mind through the eye, and the eye through the mind. As the sun colors flowers, so does art color life.”
