Orhan Camii-‹zmit ‹zmit Orhan Mahallesindedir. Denize hakim bir tepede bulunmaktad›r. 13.yy’da Orhan Gazi zaman›nda Süleyman Paşa taraf›ndan yapt›r›lm›şt›r. Abdülmecit zaman›nda onar›lan yap› dörtgen planl›, taş ve tuğla duvarl›, d›ştan ahşap çat›l›, içten asma kubbeli olup bezemeleri Abdülmecit Dönemi Ampir üslup özellikleri göstermektedir. ‹zmit’te en erken tarihli cami olarak günümüze kadar gelmiştir.
Orhan Mosque-‹zmit It is located in the Orhan District of ‹zmit. It is located on a hill commanding the sea. It has been built by Süleyman Paşa in the XIII. century during the period of Orhan Gazi. The building repaired during the term of Abdülmecit has a rectangular plan, stone and brick walls, exterior wooden roof framework, interior suspended dome decorations which exhibit the characteristics of Abdülmecit Period Ampere Style. As the earliest dated mosque, it has extended up to this present day.
‹zmit Surlar› ‹zmit surlar› bugün bile görülebilir durumdad›r. ‹ç surlar ve d›ş surlar olarak iki bölüme ayr›l›r. Surlar Roma Döneminde yap›lm›ş olup Bizans ve Osmanl› Döneminde de kullan›lm›şt›r. Günümüze kadar gelen surlara ait temeller şehrin kuzeyinde bulunmaktad›r.
‹zmit City Walls ‹zmit city walls are stil available to be seen even today. They are divided into two groups as ›nterior walls and exterior walls. City walls were built in Roman Period and were used also in Byzantine and Ottoman Periods. Foundations of city walls which remained up till today are located at the northern part of the city.
Eskihisar Kalesi-Gebze Kale eski çağlarda ‹zmit Körfez’inin güneyindeki geçişi kontrol alt›nda tutan Eskihisar Köyü’nün kuzey doğusundad›r. Kale’nin Bizans döneminde, liman› korumak amac›yla yap›ld›ğ› san›lmaktad›r. Osmanl›lar taraf›ndan da kullan›lan kale 1998 y›l›nda restore edilmiştir. Kalenin antresi konser etkinlikleri için kullan›ma aç›lm›şt›r. 170
