Director of Institutional Advancement The Woodhall School The Director of Institutional Advancement is responsible for fundraising planning and implementation, constituent relations, communications, marketing, and public relations for the School. The Director will work closely with the Head of School and other members of the administrative support staff. The Director of Institutional Advancement will possess a unique understanding of the mission, philosophy, and culture of The Woodhall School. Position responsibilities: • Engineer an infrastructure for institutional advancement that is informed by the School's culture and is adaptable to our evolving social, economical, and technological landscapes. • Coordinate and/or execute fundraising efforts including, but not limited to, major gift solicitation, planning, and executing the School’s annual and capital campaigns. • Responsible for “friend raising” as well as “fundraising” functions of the School. • Serve as an ex officio member of the Board of Directors' Development Committee. • Collaborate with the Head of School and Board of Directors’ Development Committee on strategic planning and implementation of development initiatives. • Coordinate special events for the School such as building dedications, special development functions, donor recognition. • Serve as a liaison to outside groups who use the School's facilities for special events. • Attend seminars and professional development workshops. • Coordinate all areas pertaining to alumni affairs. • Engineer and maintain a development database. • Coordinate the development of a dynamic, interactive website. • Maintain and enhance communication networks between the School and its constituents. • Coordinate general advertising for the School. • Work with members of the media to promote the School. • Work with administrators, faculty, staff, and students to promote programs and events that are of interest to the community. • Advise the Head of School in planning and development of all activities related to this position. • Supervise student contributors and any future Institutional Advancement staff. • Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of School Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. • Ability to solicit major gifts directly. • Excellent organizational, analytical, and planning skills. • Excellent writing, editing, and public speaking skills. • Ability to motivate others to work together toward a common goal. • Ability to build consensus among diverse groups for the overall success of the organization and the project. • Proficient with current website development technologies. • Fluent in social marketing media and evolving technological trends. • Management of confidential information.
