Dumbarton House Scout Programs Step back in time at Dumbarton House during one of our Scout programs! Bring your Scout troop, den, family, or youth group to learn about the early history of Washington, D.C. and participate in a hands-on workshop at Dumbarton House. Families and organized youth groups are invited to travel back in time at Dumbarton House as well! Please note: Girl Scout programs connect to pre-2011Try-It and Badge requirements changes. Registrations Registrations should be made at least one month in advance. Programs are offered weekday afternoons, Saturday mornings, and requests for other times may be accommodated. Saturdays, school holiday dates, and Overnights Adventures fill quickly. Call early to schedule your preferred date! All programs provide a snack; please notify staff of any food allergies. All programs require 1 chaperone for every 5-10 children. Troops Own Time Schedule a program that fits your schedule! Choose a Day or Overnight Adventure program that fits your group's schedule. Smaller groups are encouraged to connect with other groups to share the minimum group charge. Dumbarton House will work with your schedule, but requires four weeks' notice for Day programs and up to two months notice for Overnight Adventures. Special Needs The Museum's programs are available to all Scouts as the hands-on programs are developed to connect with all learning styles. Given enough notification, Museum Educators can adapt programs to fit the specific needs of your scouts. The Museum is wheelchair accessible.
