FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: 23 MAY 2016 CONTACT: Jaclyn Peterson 202-337-2288 x230, JaclynPeterson@dumbartonhouse.org THE 5TH ANNUAL JANE AUSTEN FILM FESTIVAL It is a truth universally acknowledged that a historic city in possession of a large Federal period house with ample grounds must be in want of an outdoor film festival. With no shortage of outdoor movies to choose from in the District this summer, what sets the Jane Austen Film Festival apart is the picturesque backdrop of Dumbarton House, a Federal period historic house museum which The Georgetowner calls “a perfectly historical fit”1 for the romantic stories of the author. Dumbarton House will host the 5th Annual three-part outdoor film series screening popular adaptations of some of the most beloved Jane Austen novels. Bring a blanket, bring a date, bring friends and family and come watch under the stars as Mr. Darcy confesses to Lizzie how ardently he admires and loves her. 2016 Screening Schedule: June 29th Sense & Sensibility (1995) July 13th Emma (1996) July 27th Pride & Prejudice (2005). (Rain dates are July 6, July 20, and August 3). General Admission is $6 per film or $15 for a pass to all three screenings. Doors open at 7:00 PM. Free admission and early entry (6:30 PM) is available to Dumbarton House Museum Members. Memberships are available online at dumbartonhouse.org/museummembership.
