Spring Homeschool History Days All programs are held on Wednesdays from 1-3 pm. Programs are open to students ages 5-12. Programs include a hands-on, interactive tour of the museum or grounds followed by workshop activities and snack.
o Drawing the Federal Period, May 27th, 2015 – Become an artist at Dumbarton House! Journey through the historic home in search of 200 year old works of art. Learn about different techniques and mediums used on various collection pieces throughout the house. Armed with artistic inspiration, students will create their own artwork to take home. o Farm to Table, June 10th, 2015 - Where does your food come from? Students learn how food travels from the farm to their kitchen table during an interactive tour of Dumbarton House’s herb garden and historic dining room. After the tour, students make their own snack using ingredients gathered from the garden. Registration To register email Education@DumbartonHouse.org, or call (202) 337-2288 x222. Registration should be made at least 2 weeks prior to program date. All programs provide a snack. Please notify staff of any food allergies. Payment The charge for our programs is $6 per student, $3 per adult (supplies & snack included). Payment is due before the program and can be made by mail or by phone. Cancellations must be made at least 7 day before program date to be eligible for a refund. Students must be accompanied by a parent or other responsible adult. Special Needs The Museum’s programs are available to all students as the hands-on programs are developed to connect with all learning styles. Given enough notification, Museum Educators can adapt programs to fit the specific needs of your students. The Museum is wheelchair accessible.
