Fall Homeschool History Days All programs are held on Wednesdays from 1-3 pm. Programs are open to students ages 5-12. Programs include a hands-on, interactive tour of the museum or grounds followed by workshop activities and snack. o Parthenon to Portico, October 22, 2014 – What does America have in common with Ancient Greece? Students learn how America was influenced by this great civilization by comparing Classical Greek and American ideals of government, art, and architecture. o Dumbarton History Detectives, November 19, 2014 – Students become history detectives and uncover evidence of how Dumbarton House has changed over the last 200 years. Students will also get to create their own plaster cast to take home.
Registration To register email EducationAssistant@DumbartonHouse.org, or call (202) 337-2288 x225. Registration should be made at least 2 weeks prior to program date. All programs provide a snack. Please notify staff of any food allergies.
Payment The charge for our programs is $6 per student, $3 per adult (supplies & snack included). Cancellations must be made at least 7 day before program date to be eligible for a refund. Students must be accompanied by a parent or other responsible adult.
Special Needs The Museum’s programs are available to all students as the hands-on programs are developed to connect with all learning styles. Given enough notification, Museum Educators can adapt programs to fit the specific needs of your students. The Museum is wheelchair accessible.
