Dulwich College International schools are academically selective, co-educational and secular. Since 2003, Dulwich College has established five Colleges for international students in Shanghai, Beijing, Suzhou, Seoul and Singapore, as well as two Dulwich International High Schools in Suzhou and in Zhuhai, primarily for Chinese students wishing to study at university abroad. Under the World Charter, Dulwich College is actively involved at every level of the Dulwich College International schools with collaborative projects between teachers and students, inspections and annual visits from the Master and Deputy Master (External). In April Dulwich College formally announced entry to Myanmar with the launch of Dulwich College Yangon. The College’s Pun Hlaing campus officially opens in August 2016, with a second campus opening in the Star City residential development a year later. In August 2016 Dulwich College also opens a second international school campus in Shanghai, Dulwich College Shanghai Minhang.

From the time of my first visit to our sister schools in Asia, it has been very natural for me to talk about the family or commonwealth of schools. Dr Joseph Spence, Master, Dulwich College

Our story our heritage Dulwich College was founded in 1619 by Edward Alleyn, renowned Jacobean actor. It is one of the UK’s most prestigious independent schools and in 1996 became the first UK independent school to open a campus overseas. Dulwich College acts as educational advisor to Dulwich College International and now has the largest overseas network of any of the British independent schools. The Dulwich Olympiad brought students from all the schools across the Dulwich network together in April 2015. The entire Dulwich family will come together for second Olympiad in London in 2019, coinciding with the founding school’s quadricentennial.

Our Students Dulwich College International schools now cater for over 6,500 students from 2 to 18 years old. Over 60 different nationalities are represented in our diverse student body. Our staff DCI employs over 1,300 talented staff from across the globe, over half of whom are teachers. We offer staff career progression within the Dulwich family of schools. On opening, more than one third of the staff at Dulwich College in Singapore had transferred from another DCI school or the founding College in London.

A good education does not have boundaries. It allows students and teachers to explore new ideas. It allows them to fail and ultimately leads them to success. Brian McDouall, Director of Schools for DCI
