Planning

“The recently completed building addition at Dublin High School, in my humble opinion, is quite an asset to the high school and the community!

When it was first decided that the junior high would relocate to the Secondary Campus, I was not convinced that the decision was a sound one.

In retrospect, I am confident of the wisdom of this choice! The consolidation of services and resources

alone saves taxpayers precious dollars. The safety of the newer facilities reduces risk to students, teachers and visitors.

The newer buildings are in compliance with current disabled access requirements.

Providing disabled access for the old junior high building would have put a big burden on the school district’s budget.

The school has done a marvelous job of separating the junior high students from the

high school students, yet making the sharing of facilities workable without being tedious.

I was amazed that the construction contract ran so smoothly while school was in session.

The contractor was able to stage materials and effect construction around all school activities with barely any disruption to the school.

Kudos to the general contractor and his subcontractors for their professionalism and consideration for staff, students and parents throughout construction, and to finish the job on time

despite the frigid weather and thanks in part to the rather dry winter.

I did not envy them as they toiled faithfully in their cold-weather gear!

Perhaps kudos belongs as well to the consultant for a wellprepared set of construction documents and to Dublin ISD for being reasonable clients that did not demand major changes while construction was underway.”

“DISD: Greater Success Through Community�

Dear Dublin Community: Thank you for supporting the students of Dublin ISD. What an awesome time to be part of the Dublin ISD Lion Team and living in the great community of Dublin, Texas.

It is the belief of the DISD Board of Trustees, administration, teachers, and staff, that a strong school builds a strong community and a strong community builds a strong school. Even though we feel a bit of sadness after leaving the one-hundred year old building, we are extremely excited to move our young students into state of the art facilities that are befitting our children and this community. In order for our students to compete in a twenty-first century global economy they must have facilities that allow them this opportunity. Our ability as a district to accomplish this goal without raising taxes is done as a result of fiscal management and good stewardship of local resources and money.

We are very proud of these new facilities and believe they place us as a district in an elite class of educational facilities from around the area. New construction will be complete within the next few weeks; therefore, we would like you to tour the new facilities. We are opening the doors to all of our secondary campus facilities for an Open House on Tuesday, May 20, 2014, between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

We would like to take this opportunity to personally thank you for your support. The DISD Lion Team and Board of Trustees know that without the community of Dublin we could not provide our students with these state of the art educational facilities.

Dublin Secondary School would like to express its greatest Gratitude to our community for supporting the construction of our new academic wing and junior high competition gym. Our students proudly walk the new halls knowing they are receiving great opportunities to learn in state of the art facilities. Having grades 7 through 12 together allow new opportunities for collaboration between teachers as well as inspiration and guidance among students.
