Junior Mathematics Competition Seven Dubai College students (Siddharth Singh (11GC), Monica Farid (11GC), Sarah Tonna (11 HT), Samar Kazranian (11RG), Samee Siddiqui (11J8) and Siddarth Cidambi (11 RG) participated in the Junior International Schools Mathematics Teachers Foundation (ISMTF) Competition against 162 of the best and the brightest Mathematics students from international schools across Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. The competition was hosted by the British School of Paris (BSP) and the team was accompanied by Mr. Lakiss (Head of Mathematics and Team Coach) and Mrs. Tourani (mother of Kabir). In the team event Kabir Tourani, Samee Siddiqui and Siddarth Cidambi gained a commendable 5th place out of 54 teams. In the individual contest all seven Dubai College students were placed in the top 50% of the individual competition with Kabir Tourani (8RD) producing an astounding performance to take the individual title beating 161 mostly 15-16 year—old students. This was a fantastic result for Kabir and Dubai College. Monica Farid also gained a commendable 18th place. It was a memorable trip with lots of fun and friendship gained by everyone - a truly remarkable experience! The next Junior competition will be in March 2007 in Bonn, Germany. Here are just a few of the highlights of the trip to Paris: *Having great hosts who take care of us well; Sid C's by explaining the rules of War Hammer, Samee's by giving him a tour of Paris, Sid S's by playing billiards with him 24/7 and Sarah, Monica and Samar's who showed them the true teenage life in Paris. *Missing the cruise but it turned out for the best since we went SHOPPING! *Having delicious crepes outside the Eiffel Tower.

Thank you to our parents, Dubai College, Mr Lakiss, Mrs. Tourani and our generous hosts at the British School of Paris, especially Sid's host who ,treated him to some coca cola and introduced to him to the fascinating world of WAR HAMMER! ,
