The Mush-Lume lighting collection redeďŹ nes what interior objects are made from and encourages a departure from conventional materials. By tapping into a unique material science such as mushroom mycelium, we can begin to reimagine a more sustainable future. All the lamps are GROWN, not manufactured, from mushrooms.

Through a partnership with Ecovative Design, we are able to grow the lamp shades using their extensive mushroom mycelium research, tested technology and patented growing process.

MUSHROOM MATERIAL

The growth process uses agricultural byproducts, like seed husks and corn stalks, and combines them with liquid mushroom mycelium. The mycelium then binds with these components and grows for several days in custom molds. When the growth process is complete, the material is heated and dried, ending the growth cycle.

Each lamp is beautifully handcrafted throughout the process of molding, growing and drying. The mushroom material can be left natural or can be hand-painted with non-toxic, all natural milk paint.

At the end of its life, the mushroom material can be broken into smaller pieces, then added to your backyard compost to fully biodegrade!

The Mush-Lume Hemi Pendant is all about pushing interior lighting to the limits with a 24″ diameter dome structure made from organic, sustainable and biodegradable mushroom material. It’s a sizable representation of the adaptability of this dynamic material. Also available in small (12”dia) and medium (18”dia).

An exploration in mixed media and mold making, the Mush-Lume Trumpet Pendant combines the traditional use of hand-turned wood with an innovative mushroom material. The interior of the lamp is hand-painted with organic milk paint. Available in multiple color options.

The first fixture created within the lighting collection, the Mush-Lume table lamp is the jumping off point in the journey to incorporate mushroom mycelium into interior products. The table lamp’s aesthetic is a visual representation of a mushroom, the essential building block of the lamp shade’s material.

Mid-century modern meets eco-chic! The Mush-Lume Cascade Chandy and Trio combine the natural mushroom material with spun brass hardware to create an eloquent hanging ďŹ xture. Custom canopy available in spun brass or powder-coated white.

Simple and cute. The Mush-Lume Cup Light may be the “little guy” of the group, but it doesn’t fall short of providing a wow-factor with a textured exterior and soft mushroom mycelium interior.
