At Diversity Theatre, our mission is to create work that captures the complexity of community life. We strive to bridge the gap between class, gender, age, and culture to move beyond tolerance into enlightenment and through the power of theatre art. Last year we expressed this though our major project, Kings of Kulture and Kush, which gained entry to the Black Film Festival in Washington, D.C. This year, we are expressing our love and gratitude for the many strong women in our lives by celebrating Women’s Friendship Month this September and launching our latest project, Kweens. Kweens will focus on sharing the stories of women from countless generations and reflecting on the many ways growing up from a non-western perspective can create obstacles living in a western society. If you would like to volunteer with any of our events, subscribe to our monthly newsletter, or get involved in any way, please visit our website at www.diversitytheatre.org or email us directly at info@diversitytheatre.org. Best Wishes, Donnie Joyner President, DTCo.
