Artist Statement:
When I was young I wanted to be a veterinarian to change peoples views on how to treat animals and the planet; now I have chosen art to make a bigger impact on what our surroundings actually mean and how we should pay attention.
Art, for me, is like a silent song created by our feelings. It’s when colors come together to tell stories. I want to show how amazing simple things can be, things we often don’t notice until someone takes a picture or makes a painting. I use different tools like colored pencils, graphite, paint, charcoal, and more to express this very idea; doing a close up or making a portrait allows us to see how detailed and extraordinary every aspect of life can be. Every stroke I make is intentional, showing that moments are temporary, but the connections we make with each other last.
My art is a way of celebrating how creating something can change and transform. It is important to understand that there’s no fixed definition for art. It’s whatever you want it to be and whatever feelings it brings out of you.
