Sometimes referred to as the Charlotte Outer Loop, Interstate 485 provides 4 interchanges for easy access into Mint Hill. The I-485 beltway runs within 1.5 miles of the South Carolina state line, and within 20 feet of the Cabarrus County line at the Rocky River Road exit. The entire Outer Loop is within Mecklenburg County's boundaries, and never crosses into South Carolina or any neighboring counties.
