What’s surprising to note is that there are actually more ‘uncommon’ days each month than we might have been initially aware of. Like how ‘Science Fiction Day', which apparently is every January 2, is often completely overlooked because of the prior 'New Year’s Day'. Not that it’ll matter much, but that small holiday might still hold significance even if just for a very small audience - any-sized audience is still more of a potential increase than not being able to reach anyone at all.

Another important consideration that this overview highlights is preparation - by being aware ahead of dated celebrations and holidays, you have ample time to prepare needed resources and to plan for suitable alternatives in case of conflicts and unforeseen circumstances. For example, should you somehow not have enough to launch a major 'Chinese New Year' project, then perhaps you can make use of leftover materials from all the other January holidays to make a little something to grab attention for 'Groundhog Day' (February 2).

The Wrap While it may appear as fairly light news, Maria-Mirabela’s little guide brings with it a couple of hefty ideas. For the most part, it reminds us of the value of content planning and management, and of planning in general.

You see, while social media doesn’t really have a step-by-step guide, if you simply get into it without any sort of direction at all, you will get lost.

That’s why content calendars and posting journals exist, to aid you in creating ideas, if not to find new inspiration from the already existing ideas of others.

Some of the holidays in this list have been around for over millennia, yet we continue to celebrate them in pretty much the same way, despite the age. The idea is that this list, whether it depicts a new or a timeless occasion, tells you that there are days that potential target audiences watch out for, and if you are serious about growing your brand, then you should too.
