The environment
Instead of always using new resources, Coeur de Lion wants to help you look after your jewellery properly and, if necessary, repair it. That is also part of sustainability for the brand. Therefore, they offer a comprehensive service to restore your favourite piece to its former glory, no matter how old it is. After all, we know that the longer you own an item of jewellery, the more sentimental value it has – and that’s irreplaceable.
The people behind the jewellery
The production of the jewellery items takes place entirely in the Coeur de Lion Stuttgart studio, from the initial design to the final quality control. Our studio stands for unique design and innovative production methods. The ‘Made in Germany’ distinction fills us with pride and we are thrilled by the ever-growing appreciation of handmade products. Coeur de Lion is also proud of their team – a conglomerate of talented people from a range of backgrounds who are refreshingly diverse and aware of the importance of quality. They are pleased that 70% of their management positions are held by women.
KYWIE® is the only 100% natural wine cooler designed to keep all beverages at even temperature. Made of Texel and other local sheepskin. Tested as the best passive cooler in the world. On top of that an eye-catcher and totally natural and sustainable.
All KYWIE® coolers are brilliantly simple. Made to hold on to the temperature of practically all bottles, wine, water and anything else you can think of. The temperature stays even for several hours, also because the bottle stays in the cooler whilst pouring. The shape allows for easy insertion and removal. KYWIE® coolers are an ideal wine-travel-outdooraccessory. It’s soft and lightweight and protects the bottle from breaking.
All you have to do is pre-chill the wine. Take the bottle from the fridge, et voila. Cold wine for hours. What is more sustainable than that. It always works.
Sheepskin is a natural left-over material, available in abundance. Using this is far more sustainable than creating artificial new materials. On top of that, sheepskin is totally bio-degradable. And, when available, coolers are produced from excess sheepskins from the fashion industry, leaving no waste. KYWIE® is designed in the Netherlands and produced locally too, with minimal footprint.

“We are a manufacturer with heart.”
The Steiff “Button in Ear” is one of the best known trademarks in the world. “Our “Button in Ear” stands for something very special: for craftsmanship, creativity and unmistakable design. Every ounce of our exceptional history since 1880. “
When founder Margarete Steiff made the Elefäntle pin cushion in 1880, she saw how the little felt elephant instantly won the affection of children and became their favourite cuddly toy. Designing and creating wonderful toys for children was the foundation of her life's ideology and still guides Steiff today. Her motto "Only the best is good enough for children" remains the guiding principle of the company to this day.
Act with responsibility!
“We are aware of our responsibility towards our society and the environment. Within the scope of our possibilities, our actions go beyond the fulfilment of existing laws and regulations.”
Under the umbrella of "Teddies for tomorrow" Steiff actively addresses the issues of sustainability and alternative materials.
The use of recycled PET bottles makes Tom Teddy bear’s cuddly soft plush fur and his filling particularly future-proof. Measuring 30 cm tall, trendy Tom has a cappuccinocoloured plush coat with a vanillacoloured insert for his tummy. He has a short-pile, white round snout, paws and soles, as well as shiny black eyes and a funny dark brown nose! As a Teddy for tomorrow, he wears his green Steiff chest tag with pride...

Zeppelin's Sustainable Planet watches have dials made of plastic for which no fossil raw materials were used, but castor oil extracted from the seeds of the castor plant, also called the miracle tree. This is the plant that grows on the material. Dials made of pure Bio-Polymer are used for the solar watch, as these dials must allow enough light to pass through for the solar cell.
