Launch Microsoft Project if it is not already running. Open Don Funk Music Video 1-1 from the data files for this lesson. Click the name of task 14, Production complete, then drag your cursor downward to highlight five rows including task 14. On the ribbon, in the Insert group, click Task. Click the blank Task Name field for task 14 and enter the following tasks and durations: Scene 1 setup (2 days), Scene 1 rehearsal (6 hours), Scene 1 vocal recording (1 day), Scene 1 video shoot (2 days), Scene 1 teardown (1 day). Save the project as Don Funk Scene 1 in the solutions folder and then close the file, leaving Project open for the next exercise. Next, you will add a note and hyperlink to a project schedule as reminders for new employees. Open New Employee 1-2 from the data files. Double-click task 9, Take picture for employee ID, and in the Task Information dialog box, on the Notes tab, type "Remember to use blue backdrop for digital pics." Then, double-click task 22, Complete health insurance paperwork, and in the dialog box, type "Verify all insurance needs and any other insurance carriers." Save the project as New Employee Orientation, then close it. Finally, modify resource allocations due to an upcoming vacation. Open Office Remodel 2-5, access the Change Working Time dialog box, and change Lori Kane's resource calendar to reflect her vacation from October 19-23, 2015. Save the project as Office Remodel Vacation, then close the file. In a subsequent exercise, review the resource sheet in Don Funk Incorrect 2-6, identify and correct three resource errors based on resource types, maximum units, and rates. For the last three resources, adjust the information for dry ice (work resource) and bottled water (cost resource), estimating rates if necessary. Save the project as Don Funk Corrected, then close the file.
