The purpose of this assignment is to utilize what you learned thus far. To do that, you will be writing an essay. One way in which psychology examines issues in life-span development is to review current research on related topics. For this assignment, you will review current research and provide a critical evaluation of that research through an annotated bibliography. An annotated bibliography is a brief summary and analysis of the journal article reviewed.
For more information on the required format of the bibliography, please refer to the annotated bibliography template. You will need to find research articles located in scholarly journals. Scholarly journal articles are also referred to as primary source peer-reviewed articles. A scholarly journal article can be found in the South University Online Library. Web pages, magazines, newspapers, textbooks, and other books cannot be used for this assignment. The research must be current, meaning the articles should have been published within the last five to six years. Since this course focuses on human development, ensure that the articles relate to the subject matter covered in the course. Your search should include one or more of the following topics: major developmental theories across the lifespan; the nature of geographic, gender, social, cognitive, emotional, and developmental factors during each period of development; developmental factors that impact one another; historical and current trends in development; current trends impacting future development in the United States; and social and diversity issues related to developmental psychology.
For this assignment, you will find two journal articles for each of the following age groups: adults and older adults. The annotated bibliography must include, for each article:
A two-paragraph summary of the article.
A 1-2 paragraph analysis and evaluation of the article, integrating what you have learned in your course readings.
Additionally, in week 5, you will write a 1-2 page summary of what you have learned from your research on the different age groups, including the early childhood, late childhood, and adolescence groups covered in week 3. This summary should address:
What similarities did you find in the research topics and studies across these age groups?

Which developmental theories discussed in the course are applicable to your findings?
