There are no minimum hours you have to work.

Lyft drivers with complaints and bad ratings have it very hard to get more work.

Passengers can see your ratings and won't want to hire you.

Therefore, some Lyft drivers earn very little per hour.

Another reason Lyft drivers complain about low income is that not enough people want Lyft rides in their city.

If you work in a city where Lyft is new and not many passengers use it or more people use Uber, you'll get less jobs every hour and your hourly earnings will be way lower. Also, even if you work in a city where Lyft is very popular, if you drive in the wrong hours or in the wrong locations such as very rich areas where everyone has their own car or in very poor neighborhoods where no one can afford a Lyft ride, you're unlikely to earn much per hour.

Most of the time, passengers have no reason to leave you a bad rating unless you really annoyed them or they felt that you cheated them by taking a longer route to overcharge them.

Whenever a person receives criticism or is rejected, the normal human response is not to look at oneself and see one's own faults but to lash out at the person (or in this case ride share car company).

In those cases, best to call Lyft support and explain the case to them. They will likely understand and help resolve the unfair bad rating.

Lyft has great 24/7 phone support and helps their drivers as much as they can. Their support doesn't just side with a customer. Most of the time, they resolve disputes in a fair way between a driver and the passenger.

Why do Lyft drivers get deactivated?

If your rating falls beneath 4.6 stars, you risk being deactivated by Lyft.

Lyft wants to maintain high standards and make it a pleasant experience for both the driver and passenger.

For most drivers, it is easy to maintain a solid 5-star rating even after driving 1,000 different kinds of passengers in different areas and at different times of day/night.

Lyft Driver Complaints about sexual harassment from their passengers Lexus Jones wrote about his experience and his friends’ experiences in a review: “I have a friend who is sexy, blonde, wild and usually down for whatever. Because she is a responsible young lady, when she knows she is going to go out and drink, she takes an Uber.

The other morning she texted me and told me she just had sex with her Uber driver. She said she was tipsy, happy and he was cute, so after the ride was over, she invited him in and he obliged. "Five-star service!" she joked.

Do people, other than my friend, consciously hit on drivers occasionally after an enjoyable ride?

Yes! Have women hit on me? Duh. And, yes, it's tempting as hell sometimes. What I do is I have them write down my email address and message me in the morning if they are really interested. Otherwise, all drivers are doing is asking for trouble if they do much more than drive from point A to point B.” Jones does not recommend male Lyft or Uber drivers to let themselves get seduced by female passengers. He thinks it's not professional and could lead to trouble.

Don't go to a drunk woman's room and overnight in her place or the next morning she might not remember what you're doing in her bed and call the police for sexual assault.

Do Female Lyft Drivers suffer Sexual Harassment too?

Unfortunately, some do – mainly in the form of compliments from male passengers.

Because Lyft requires passengers to have a valid credit card to verify their identity and many Lyft drivers have a camera in their car, very few passengers dare to harass their drivers.

Most of the female Lyft drivers are satisfied with their job driving for Lyft and say they feel relatively safe to quite safe.

Now and then there are some drunk male passengers who try to hit on them but most of the time passengers are respectful and careful.

"It was 4 am and he was really drunk. He said I was beautiful and asked if I had a boyfriend." one female Lyft driver recalls angrily. "I told him I was married and he let it go. I was SOOO mad that he dared to speak to me like that! Well, at least he didn't get sick in my car."

Another female Lyft driver who's been driving for 2 years remembers one incident where a guy asked her where he could find other girls like her. "That was the only sexual harassment incident I remember." she says, "it still annoys me until today."

Sometimes, male Lyft drivers get hit on by gay guys.

If a passenger is upsetting you, you can always cancel the ride (and get $5 cancellation bonus from Lyft), leave the passenger a bad review, kick him out of your car, and/or call Lyft's emergency support line to report him.

Having a hidden dash-cam in your car is a great way to record inappropriate passenger behavior so you can later file a complaint against them or even a lawsuit.

Have there been any Lyft driver assaults?

None that are known. Uber has been hit by many lawsuits over the years over privacy issues and passenger/driver assaults. So many lawsuits in fact some Uber drivers fear Uber will die.

So far, there haven’t been any Lyft lawsuits.

The only know Lyft sexual harassment scandal was lately about a driver who flashed to a teen passenger.
