Founded in 2012, Juspay has played an important role in building core digital payments infrastructure in India.
Processing more than 25M transactions every day, our vision is to innovate for the entire payments ecosystem - for the customer, merchants and the banks together. From building BHIM, contributing to network protocols like UPI, BECKN & OCEN, re-defining 2FA with Auto OTP capture, 1-click digital signature based methods; to building the first horizontally scalable on-cloud UPI infra for the banks, we believe in collaborating with the ecosystem and solving large foundational problems from UX to core Infra.

AUTO OTPJUSPAY SAFE 2014
A simple browser layer over bank URLS with Auto OTP read & submit, that changed digital card payments as we knew it.
The first implementation of UPI, BHIM, was born out of Juspay in just 3 weeks, marking the beginning of Juspay’s UPI journey. This initiative was in collaboration with India stack. The app was built on Presto UI framework, our in-house functional programming alternative to react native.

Designed and developed the core authentication system for UPI, the UPI common library (2FA SDK) - the page used by millions today while entering a UPI PIN on any UPI platform.

System designed the Tokenization framework with VISA and built the first and largest Token Requestor platform, having invested in building secure payments well before it became a mandate.

Spearing ahead in UPI innovations we adopted a Cloud native approach for UPI Stacks to achieve high scalability, reliability, agility and visibility .
BECKN

Our efforts in UPI culminated into Juspay playing a vital role in building the standardised specifications for lendingOCEN (Open Credit Enablement Network). As part of this initiative, in collaboration with iSpirit, we built out the first reference implementation of the SAHAY Program, 'GeM Sahay'. This application facilitates MSME financing for sellers listed on the GeM portal, and is now managed by the Ministry of Commerce & Industries, GoI
In collaboration with BECKN, we built a reference implementation of an open network using BECKN protocol, to showcase the potential of building open network ecosystems. We work with multiple participants on networks like KOMN (Kochi Open Mobility Network), ONDC and LRD (Local Retail and Delivery), to build consumer/provider platforms, technology solutions to enable other providers to interact with the open network, and also work on identifying Network level policies.
