In a tiny, sweltering room, 12 jurors sit around a table to decide the fate of a 19-year-old boy who has been charged with the murder of his father in what seems to be an open-and-shut case. When push comes to shove, one juror stands in defiance against the rest and dissents, arguing for the possibility of the boy’s innocence. One by one, viewers discover that each juror is burdened with memories and prejudices that may taint their perspective.
