Dr. Michael Lahr from the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy (Rutgers University) and Dr. Scott Knowles (Drexel University) will discuss the political climate and economic implications of natural disasters.

SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN THE PHILADELPHIA ECONOMY, TBD A social entrepreneur identifies and solves social problems on a large scale. Just as business entrepreneurs create and transform whole industries, social entrepreneurs act as the change agents for society, seizing opportunities others miss in order to improve systems, invent and disseminate new approaches and advance sustainable solutions that create social value. Thanks to a $1 million award, the Philadelphia Social Enterprise Partnership, an incubator for socially-minded startups, is going to become a reality. This panel will discuss how social entrepreneurship can innovate ways to solve local problems in the Philadelphia region.
