One member of your team, _______________, should visit docs.google.com and log in. b. Click the “Create New” button and select “Presentation” A window should open up that looks like this: Title your presentation by clicking here

Add images by right-clicking in the larger slide

This is the button that allows you to add notes to your slides

2. Give your presentation a title. Give it the same name as your document, but add “Images” at the end. For example, “JonesTSmithSXiangVImages” 3. Share the document with your group members and with your teacher (see Part I for details) Collecting Images For each image, walk through these steps. 4. Once you find an image, save it to your computer or flash drive. 5. Add your image to a slide. a. Add a slide to the presentation (see diagram above for directions) b. On the larger slide, right click to get a menu like the one to the right. c. Select “Insert” and “Image”. This will open another window. d. Click “Browse your computer …” and find the file. e. Then click “OK”

6. Resize the image to make it fill the slide a. Click on the image. Four “handles” (white squares) will appear. b. Hold the “Shift” key and drag one of the squares until the picture fills the slide. Holding “Shift” will keep the picture’s proportions. If you don’t hold “Shift”, the picture will stretch. c. Move the picture around until you like the part that fills the slide. For example, the picture of Ghandi above doesn’t quite match the shape of the slide. I chose to let most of Ghandi’s chest “hang off” the edge of the slide. Whatever isn’t on the slide won’t show in your final story. 7. Cite the source of your image. a. Click the “Speaker Notes” button at the bottom right of the screen. It looks like this:

b. Write out the citation information your teacher has asked you to include as part of the project. Include the following information: _______________________________ _______________________________ _______________________________ _______________________________

Put Together Your Works Cited Slide 8. Once your group has gathered all your pictures, use the information you included in the speaker notes to create a Works Cited slide at the end of your presentation. Like PowerPoint, you can easily include a text box (look for the

icon) and a bulleted list (look for the

icon). Follow the format your teacher recommends.

Turning Your Presentation ‘back’ into Images 9. Choose one person to save the presentation into a PowerPoint file. 10. Click “File” and then “Download as”. Select “PowerPoint”. This will download a copy of the presentation to your hard drive. 11. Open the saved copy of your presentation in PowerPoint. 12. In PowerPoint, click “File” and then “Save As”. This will open up a window similar to the one to the right. 13. Browse to where you’d like to save, then use the menu “Save as type” to save your presentations as “JPEG” files. Click the “Save” button. 14. Select “Every Slide” on the window that opens next. The images can now be imported into Movie Maker or PhotoStory.
