Letter from the President GALA

Dear Friends,

Welcome to the 53rd Warrior Gala at Walsh Jesuit High School - A Shining Legacy!

Since our founding in 1964, Walsh Jesuit has been a beacon of Jesuit excellence in education, spiritual formation, and fostering growth in the arts and athletics. Tonight, we gather to celebrate and pay tribute to the remarkable “Shining Legacy” of our school and the more than 10,000 alumni who have carried the Warrior spirit forward in our world for more than 60 years.

While Warrior Gala enjoys a proud reputation as one of the best parties in town (and rightly so!), this evening is more than just a celebration of who we are; it is a vital opportunity to raise critical dollars in support of each one of our 934 students. By reducing tuition and ensuring access to our proud traditions, we continue to nurture the talents and dreams of our students, preparing them to be leaders in their communities and beyond. Thank you for your support of our wonderful young people!

I would also like to express my deepest appreciation to our many sponsors. Your generous contributions as underwriters and auction sponsors have made this evening possible. Your support is a testament to the strong and enduring bonds that connect us all to Walsh Jesuit.

Finally, I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to our dedicated volunteer co-chairs, Sal & Allison Papalardo, and Adam & Robin Huff. Your tireless efforts and unwavering commitment have been instrumental in making this evening a sparkling celebration. Your leadership and passion for our school community are truly inspiring.

The shining legacy of our community is on full display tonight, and it is a privilege to raise a glass with you in celebration of our Warrior tradition! Cheers!

2025 WARRIOR GALA

Adam and Robin Huff

Chair Couples

Adam and Robin Huff are excited and honored to be co-chairs of the 2025 Warrior Gala, alongside their dear friends, Sal and Allison Papalardo. Together, they look forward to making this a fun and successful event, benefitting all students at Walsh Jesuit.

Adam and Robin reside in Medina and have been married for 25 years. They have three grown adult children, Ashley, Cody and Nick and their youngest, Brennan, is currently a senior at Walsh Jesuit. They also have seven grandchildren between the ages of one and nine. Brennan is the first in their family to attend Walsh. The wonderful community environment paired with academic excellence is one of many reasons they wish to give back to the school by volunteering as co-chairs for this year’s gala.

Adam is a graduate of Waterloo High School and began his career in the automotive industry at a very young age. Starting as a salesperson, he quickly rose through the ranks and was promoted to management positions at Rick Case Honda and Blossom Motorcars. In 1992, he joined Fred Martin Motor Company in Norton, Ohio as the General Manager which resulted in him purchasing the dealership and becoming President in 1999. Adam has grown this company into what it is today, a company comprising of 13 different corporations including dealerships in the Akron/Canton area and Louisville, Kentucky. Throughout his career, Adam has always strived to do good in the community by giving back. For many years he sponsored local DARE programs by providing SUVs for the Norton and Green chapters and he continues this endeavor today. For over 25 years he has been committed to purchasing food for the Summit County Humane Society and in 2014 the Fred Martin Auto Group was awarded the highest honor by the Humane Society by receiving the Animal Hero Award. Adam is also involved in various charities throughout the Akron area such as Akron Children’s Hospital, the Access Homeless Shelter, the Haven of Rest and the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. Throughout his career, Adam served as President of the Akron Auto Dealer Association for two terms and was nominated for Time Magazines Dealer of the Year award in 2022. Of all his accomplishments, if you ask Adam what his favorite title is, he will say loving husband, dad and Papa.

Robin is a graduate of the University of Akron and furthered her education by obtaining her Master’s in Social Science Administration from Case Western University. For twelve years she worked with children and adolescents by providing mental health counseling. During this time her work focused on children in the foster care system who had endured various forms of abuse and working with teens in the Cleveland area suffering from conduct and defiance disorders. Robin ran regular parenting groups, and anger management programs aside from individualized counseling. She later chose to remain at home with Brennan but still completes yearly training to uphold her credentials. She has always strived to be active in the community by volunteering at her son’s school, their church and local organizations.

Their time at Walsh Jesuit has been one of pride, a wonderful sense of community, and it has been an exceptional educational experience for Brennan. They are grateful to the faculty, staff, football coaches and everyone who makes this community so special and has provided them with such a wonderful experience. They are excited and honored to be a part of this year’s Warrior Gala, which will be nothing short of spectacular.

Chair Couples

Sal & Allison Papalardo

Sal and Allison Papalardo are honored to have been chosen to co-chair Walsh Jesuit’s 53rd annual Warrior Gala, alongside their dear friends Adam and Robin Huff. They started their journey together at Old Trail School’s Kindergarten orientation, and are thrilled to continue this journey with them as they make this long-standing tradition of the Warrior Gala a tremendous success.

They have been married for 18 years, and have two beautiful daughters, Sophia ’25 a senior and Ava ’28 a freshman, who together will be a part of this season’s talented WJ Women’s Softball Team. They are heavily involved in extracurricular activities and have made many lasting friendships. They wanted their daughters to share in their Catholic upbringing and couldn’t be happier with their decision in choosing Walsh Jesuit.

Allison attended Cardinal Mooney High School and received her BFA from Youngstown State University. She was a Territory Manager for American Hotel Register Company, and “retired” to be a full time stay at home mom.

Sal is a graduate of St. Ignatius High School ’87, continued his baseball career at Allegheny College, and holds his MBA from Baldwin Wallace College. He has been in the Insurance industry for over 30 years and is a partner at United Agencies Insurance Group in downtown Cleveland.

The Papalardo’s reside in Brecksville and are members of St. Basil Parish. They have been contributing members at their children’s schools for many years, starting at Old Trail where Allison was room mother, a volunteer for numerous events, and currently assists as team parent for the WJ Softball team. Sal enjoyed coaching various sports teams their daughters were involved in. They are also active, long-time standing members and contributors of many charitable causes and organizations, such as Boys and Girls Club of America, Cleveland Clinic Children’s Foundation, American Diabetes Association, Cleveland Hunger Network, Ronald McDonald House, and Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, including Sophia ’25 personally raising over $10,000 for her team last year. Allison also creates and donates pieces of artwork annually to the Make-a-Wish Gala silent auction.

They were fortunate to get their start at Walsh Jesuit High School by hosting one of the annual zone parties. It paved the way to assist in this year’s Warrior Gala as one daughter is a senior, and the other a freshman, they couldn’t think of a better time to commit to Chairing this year’s Warrior Gala. They look forward to donating their time and resources as true men and women for others, and to honor the Warrior mission with the Walsh Jesuit community.

People are at the heart of what we do.

Every day, while we’re bustling about our lives, it can be easy to get so focused that we forget to stop and appreciate this place: our community. At Huntington, we see it as our responsibility to not just appreciate the Greater Akron area, but to always be looking for ways to make it better. That’s why we’re making a number of investments right here. Check them out at huntington.com/Community. Because when our communities thrive, we all live better.

Mission Statement

Walsh Jesuit, a Catholic, college preparatory high school in the spirit of Saint Ignatius Loyola, reaches beyond academic excellence to develop competence, conscience, and compassion within its graduates.

As a Christ-centered community we value inclusion and strive to be men and women for and with others.

Alma Mater

Walsh Jesuit, alma mater, we raise our voice to thee; Thy cross and crown above us shine to guide us faithfully.

With a warrior’s heart and spirit, and Heaven’s grace untold, May we be worthy of thy mission, fit to wear the maroon and gold.

-Zachary Gustafson ‘96, composer

THE PEOPLE BEHIND

the Mission
