It is basically a platform through which everyday things which are embedded with sensing equipment can be connected to the internet enabling them to collect and exchange data.The primary objective of this paper is to provide an overview of IoT, its key characteristics and detailed view of various stages of architecture of Internet of Things. This paper also includes several applications areas of IoT providing examples in those sectors of Internet of Things.
