Here is a selection of questions and answers posted on the site. www.bmjcareers.com/advicezone Yes, you can take the MRCPCH (Membership of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health) exam if you have done your MD in India. It is advisable, however, to do an attachment for a few months in the United Kingdom to have the mindset of the differential diagnosis and line of thinking expected from a paediatrician working here (which is what the exam is testing). This is particularly important for the practical examination but also helps in the written exam to reach an appropriate conclusion. There are quite a few courses to help you build your mindset and practise for the practical exam (what you refer to as part 3 of the exam). There are no other hurdles as far as I know. You need to set your target, prepare, and go for the exam. I would advise you to plan far ahead if you want to come to the UK for the exam and see how medicine is practised in this country, before appearing for the exam. ■
