Mother’s Day Celebration “Mother’s love cannot be measured. It’s a brilliant gem to be treasured.” Mother’s role is foremost in shaping the growth, personality, and upbringing of a child, which is also pivotal in strengthening the family bonding. The day that celebrates the essence of a mother is Mother’s Day. Mother’s Day is a celebration honoring the mother, as well as motherhood. The students of class LKG celebrated Mother’s Day on 14thMay, 2018 and expressed their love and affection for their mothers to make them feel special and bring a smile on the face of their beloved mothers. It was a heartwarming sight to see the children performing for their mothers. The school’s chairperson Mr. Vijay Dhar, Mrs. Kiran Dhar, Principal Mr. Alistair Freese, and Vice- Principal Ms. Shafaq Afshan also graced the occasion. The programme began with a school Prayer. Then children from LKG ‘B’ enthusiastically welcomed mothers by singing a Welcome song “We gather here to tell you”. This was followed by a wide array of various programmes by all the sections of LKG. Some students sang a beautiful Kashmiri song “Ae Mouj chejantichhoorchak” and the mothers loved it! Keeping this bonding emotion in mind, students presented a small token of love to Mrs. Kiran Dhar as “Amazing Mom of DPS”. Some students from LKG ‘G’ enacted an emotional skit about the lost bird and how he found his mother in the end. The principal, Mr. Alistair Freese addressed the Mothers and wished them.

Each mother has different challenges, different skills, and abilities…” With this thought an Art and Music competition was organized for Mothers, where a number of mothers participated with great enthusiasm and fervor. It was a pleasure watching the superly excited moms with their dynamic and energetic performances. The outcome of their efforts was marvelous. Each mother was special and different in her own way. In the end, the principal, Mr. Alistair Freese felicitated the winners and participant mothers. He thanked and applauded the efforts of all the mothers in making the program a success.

FARM VISIT LKG students visited farmhouse again and excitedly harvested the vegetable planted by them some weeks ago. It captured their interest and gave them a sense of pride in their accomplishment. Proudly carrying knolkhol (Munj Hakh), they excitedly recounted the day’s event to one another. It was a sight to behold our young farmers as they gathered vegetables straight from the ground.

“Some books you read. Some books you enjoy. But some books just swallow you up Heart and soul.”

Scholastic and co-scholastic activities have an equal importance in school programme for the allround development of the child. Keeping this in view, English Language Activity, “Favourite Book Character” was organized for children on 25thMay, 2018. The purpose of conducting the programme was to blend learning with fun. Children were given freedom to dress in their favourite book character. It was really delightful to see children dressed up in the lovely and different costumes, giving vent to their creative geniuses. The school looked vibrant with all the fictional characters come alive and filled the atmosphere with thrill. All our little ones were looking adorable. They won hearts with their exuberance and enthusiasm! Children enjoyed the photo shoot and had a great day.
