Chris Brannigan event rewind The general opinion seems to be that we need to invite Chris Brannigan back to campus, right? Especially for those who missed him, it was an honest, funny, and informative hour. Chris shared invaluable insights with us about strategies to prepare for taking the CIPP exam as well as a wealth of resources for finding employment, a primer on how GDPR is being implemented in Europe, and general advice. Be sure you download the packet of information he so kindly prepared for us (included in the email we sent with the Hivemind link). Thanks to everyone who joined us, and we’ll let you know when we’re bringing him back. Become a fellow The Law & Economics Center is now accepting submissions for their 2019-2020 Privacy Fellowship. Submissions are due November 8, 2019. If you’re interested, find out all the details you need to apply > AI writing competition The Center for Legal & Court Technology at William & Mary Law School recently announced its third annual writing competition, accepting submissions for papers dealing with legal issues posed by artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, data analytics, and associated technologies. Their Student Writing Competition encourages original writing in the field of tech law and policy. Entrants are invited to submit papers exploring the ways in which emerging technologies and services interact with or challenge existing civil rights and consumer protection laws.
