March started out with the exciting announcement of our Truist Broadway at DPAC’s 2024 / 2025 Season. The upcoming season features eight brand new shows direct from New York, including Clue , & Juliet , A Beautiful Noise: The Neil Diamond Musical , Shucked , Kimberly Akimbo, Back to the Future: The Musical , Some Like It Hot , and The Wiz .

DPAC’s stage saw the return of renowned comedian Ron White early in March, as well as the Grammy-nominated hard rock band, Godsmack . Celebrating their 20th anniversary, Celtic Woman delighted the crowd with traditional and contemporary Irish music. JJ Grey & Mofro brought a soulful show, and Neil deGrasse Tyson gave an out of this world lecture covering the entire universe.

TESLA brought the house down with their rock show, and Tedeschi Trucks Band wowed the crowd with their guitar and drum skills. One of our favorite local comedians Fortune Feimster had the audience laughing the entire evening and Ledisi graced us with her powerful vocal performance.

Mrs. Doubtfire , the funniest musical of the year, gave us eight amazing sold out shows. Comedian John Crist debuted his hilarious jokes to a sold out crowd, and Chris D’Elia returned for a great show. We ended the month with the powerhouse guitar duo, Joe Satriani & Steve Vai.

Thank you for your support as we wrap up another busy month at DPAC. We hope to see you soon.

DPAC’s Rising Stars Awards

The DPAC Rising Star Awards is a regional awards program that celebrates high school musical theatre achievements made across Central North Carolina. This program propels the careers of Broadway’s future stars while supporting the important work being done by students and teachers both on and off the stage. On Thursday, May 9 the program will culminate with a live awards ceremony at DPAC hosted by Clay Aiken that will feature 20 of the best high school musical performers in our region and distribute more than 10 awards including “Best Musical”, “Best Choreography” and “Best Ensemble”. The 20 student Finalists will compete live for their chance to go on to compete in New York City at the Jimmy Awards in June.
