Hello Downtown!

Spring is in the air and the flowers are in bloom, it’s time to enjoy the beautiful weather, and bright sunshine. With summer around the corner, that also means construction. We understand that construction can slow your schedule and be frustrating. Our board is working with the city to ensure that we keep you up to date with any changes in construction. We’ll be sending more information as we get it.

For more good news, the City approved and ordered an upgraded vacuum machine that’s better equipped to clean our streets and alleyways. This helps to keep you, your staff, and customers safe. We are also working with the City to fund more Downtown initiatives to increase security and safety, stay tuned for more as we get closer to summer. Have a Happy Spring

Hi there!

My name is Emma Laiho, and I am one of the summer students running the Urban Park and Urban Park Market. I’m currently studying English and Political Science at Lakehead University. This is my fourth year back, and I am so excited to be involved in another summer filled with fun events!

Our Urban Park is coming back, but with one major change: our location! Due to the road work on Algonquin, we are moving to Cedar St. S for the summer. All of our street events will be occurring on the block of Cedar between Second and Third, and approximately half of the block between Third and Algonquin. Come give us a visit and play some fun games or get some delicious food!

We have some awesome themes coming up this year for the Urban Park (if I may say so myself)! Here’s our schedule for the summer:

July 5: Carnival

July 12: Superheroes

July 19: Music Week

July 26: Christmas in July!

August 2: Pirate Week

August 9: Halloween

August 16: Medieval Times

August 23: Science Week

If you are interested in having your organization join us, or if you want any further information, don’t hesitate to reach out! I can be reached at coordinator@downtowntimmins.com, or at 705-264-8733.

Hope to see you out this summer!
