Scarce in better grade, we are delighted to present genuine gold solidi of the 7th century Byzantine Emperor Constans – at a dynamite discount!

Becoming emperor at the age of ten with the support of the army, Constans’ reign was troubled by attacks from the Islamic Rashidun Caliphate in the east, and an ever-widening religious divide at home. Constans failed to deal with either problem particularly well, and, having alienated the people of Constantinople, he moved his court to Sicily. An ignominious end to his long reign, Constans was assassinated there in 668AD – beaten to death in his bath by a servant wielding a bucket!

At a recent European auction, we purchased a lot of nine Constans Gold Solidi in superior grade Very Fine to Extremely Fine condition.

As a result of our bulk acquisition, we secured this key 1,350-yearold gold coin type at an outstanding price. Delighted to pass on the savings to our clients, we can now offer the Byzantine gold solidi of Emperor Constans at a whopping $500 off regular retail!
