Since its inception in 2018, the Grand Matriarch Distilling Company, a micro-distillery based in Merimbula manufacturing vodka, has gone from strength to strength. Established in 2018, Grand Matriarch sells its products direct to bottle shops, restaurants, pubs, at local markets in the Bega Valley and online at grandmatriarch.com.au. Grand Matriarch Vodka is available in 1 litre and 500ml bottles which can be repurposed as water bottles. The company’s intention was to create a sleek, environmentally friendly reusable bottle; they've certainly achieved that goal. With the purchase of two portable bars, the company is expanding into event hire. The Grand Matriarch team can come to your house, farm or workplace and work with your theme and budget. Beer, wine, spirits, soft drinks and juices are all available, with various pricing options and packages to choose from. Naturally they use their own vodka, helping to keep costs down. Currently Grand Matriarch is not able to welcome visitors to it production facility, but plans are afoot to relocate in the next 12 months to premises suitable for cellar door tasting. The long-term plan is to establish a large manufacturing base locally, and to create employment opportunities in the Bega Valley.
