DCCF HERO AWARDS

Honoring Our First Responder Heroes

Nominations are open for the 2023 DCCF Hero Awards! These special honors will recognize the service and valor of our Douglas County first responders, Armed Forces members, and veterans. First responders include anyone in law enforcement, including police officers and sheriff deputies, firefighters, emergency medical services personnel, dispatchers, search and rescue, and volunteer first responders.

Nominees must have responded to a situation exhibiting exceptional courage, self-sacrifice, extraordinary compassion, or life-saving actions considered above and beyond the call of duty \or administering extraordinary emergency aid. These events must have occurred in the last 18 months for first responder nominees.

The final nominees will be invited to attend the DCCF Heroes Gala on September 21, 2023, at Denver Botanic Gardens Chatfield Farms and will be honored during the event. Please submit your online nomination by visiting www.DCCF.org. Nominations are due by Wednesday, August 23, 2023.

About The Event

Join us for the inaugural Douglas County Community Foundations Heroes Gala! This unforgettable night of inspiration and celebration will raise awareness and support and say Thank You to our Douglas County first responders, Armed Forces members, veterans, and our nonprofit partner organizations that support these brave heroes.

Proceeds from this event will support our Community Emergency Relief fund. These funds directly assist our community, nonprofit partners, and first responders during catastrophic events affecting Douglas County residents and ensure that emergency relief funds can be quickly accessed and distributed to those in Douglas County who need it most when they need it most.
