And yet it is so automatic, so familiar, we never give it a thought.”

Each person gets to live in one body, with its limitations and capabilities; the body is a tool one uses to explore and develop movement. Following Sacks’s suggestion, in this project, a simple phenomenon is being challenged for the sake of enriching our experience in the world. By gaining control over another body a limitless array of new moves may be obtained. At first, through physical experimenatation with an inflatable garment construction allowing its user to inhabit a new silhouette and explore a new sensation of proprioception.

ESTRANGEMENT

Estrangement is a graduation project from the Information Experience Design programme at the Royal College of Art. It is an experimentdriven research project exploring themes of identity, movement, and (dis)embodiment. It provides a framework to challenge the notion of embodiment in which the subject is not only represented but also in control of a different body. In its second phase the project turned digital and harnessed various technologies such as 3D scanning, motion capturing and virtual reality.

Through immersive experiences, performances, and workshops, both physical and digital, the project studies corporal modification and how it can affect our proprioception, for the sake of deepening and expanding mental and physical bodily capabilities related to movement.

The experience is made even more magical with the presence of a treasure hunt providing an interactive and engaging atmosphere. This virtual store is among many others developed to enhance user experience,

excite new customers and expand the brand presence to new digital platforms. This immersive shopping experience for customers allows them to explore and discover new products in a unique and interactive way. It is a new way of telling your story and creating a lasting impression. These experiences are the epitome of spatial design, storytelling, e-commerce and 3D technology as they revolutionise the way customers shop and how fashion brands interact with their customers.

Living Shenzhen’s purpose is to provide an innovative tool for urbanscape planning, a method that uses local observation in order to conceive the authentic identity of a place for the benefit of its community. The aim of the project is to overlay multiple personal perspectives on the planning process to ensure a fitted, wellthought urban environment.

The city will be a social petri dish where life’s ritual will diffuse into an innovative representation of the city itself. In this parallel map, the urban reality and

the individual/autobiographical perceptive experience dwell in parataxis as in the disjointed dual-vision of Aldo Rossi’s ‘La Città Analoga’ (1976).

The main component of our proposal is the experimental use of advanced existing technology of eye-tracking. The research involves multiple participants that will share their daily use of the city and its architecture through wearing a pair of smartglasses that will allow to record and capture the user’s vision.

EXPERIMENTIAL PARTICIPANTS AND COLLECTED FOOTAGE

LIVING SHENZHEN

Relying on the footage, from locals and visitors alike, while exploring the city, our system will provide a new method of reading the city. In addition to quantifying attention, interest, and attunement, we assume that the analysis of this collected data can also provide information regarding the safety and comfort of the growing city’s inhabitants. This approach will permit a top-bottom-top mechanism, which enables a professional initial foundation, following a personal perspective input manifesting into an educated planning output.

Living Shenzhen is a proposal for two outcomes: a method and a map, a dual-faced platform that will represent Shenzhen, which will be the first city to be analyzed in this way. With the help of this device, we will be able to identify what matters to the city’s users leading to a potential breakthrough in the urban planning process.

Can a city exist forever? Can one guarantee a city to exist forever? What makes a city eternal? These questions led us to develop this project, which deals with the presence of time in urban spaces. This project is a graduation project from the architecture department at Bezalel Academy of Art and Design.

The laters of time that built our urban environments need to remain and to be shown; Layers that have been deleted or hidden from the public eye weaken the value of the city. We must restore to the widespread consciousness of what has been passed on the land

in which the contemporary, ancient and future city coexist. The principles of action stemmed from reality itself, which removes elements of high time value from the eye. The value of time is intended to encourage the connection of the heritage, the history of the city and its uniqueness. Therefore, regardless of belonging to a particular person or community, we must proudly display what survived in time. Forgotten remains must be returned to the urban space, thereby enriching the lives of the inhabitants with culture, history and technological achievements.

The use of visionary, speculative architecture is associated with a constant change of the city that enables it to become eternal. This constant change conflicts with the difficulties of architecture in reality, which involve processes that take a long time and prevent the city to change quickly. This pace is made possible by various speculations that build the city parallel to its physical construction. Changing consciousness is one of the first steps and requires a change in the built surrounding. The project is guided by the search for a vanished architecture

consisting of the simple invention of objects in space, creating a rich and exciting atmosphere. An emotionprovoking experience created by architecture, as it is created by music, literature, and art. The person entering the space must leave behind the rationality that characterizes modern life and allow himself to experience, along with the architecture, an uplifting aesthetic spiritual experience.
