about me I am 22 years old and in my final year of Architecture at Swinburne. What got me into Architecture was playing Video Games and Lego. It lets me create abstract buildings and structures and enables me to express my creativity in a 3D environment along with other people. The idea slowly transitioned from a hobby to interest and at the end, it gravitated me to pursuit Architecture as my career path.

I have graduated Advanced Diploma of Building (Architectural) in December 2018 and am currently in my final year of Bachelor of Design (Architecture) at Swinburne. During my full-time studies, I have understood how to produce eye-capturing designs utilising various of 2D, 3D and rendering programs. Most notably, diagrams, rendering and schematic designs are among the areas I am well known for. I have gained the knowledge of producing stunning Town planning, Workings Drawings and Detailings for both residential and commercial projects.

Social Tractus strives to develop a structured strategy through design for re-entry into the university environment, creating safe spaces tailored for learning. With the help of BIM we can assess the most feasible, creative and cost effective strategies to achieve a post COVID-19 response to the for the new AMDC floor plan.

Social Tractus also incorporates the use of feedback loops to form iterative faรงade designs which will improve upon the current AMDC faรงade. Through various design options and a well-formed feedback loop Social Tractus aims to use the data from both radiation analysis and view analysis data maps. These maps were then overlayed with each other and added to an image sampler script. In this case we have been able to allow data to drive our design and form the geometry of AMDCs new and improved faรงade, as darker areas across these overlayed maps would define the openings in our faรงade whilst light areas would define the closures in the facade

We entered in an “Inspireli’s “Inspireli’s 5th Annual Design Competition”, Competition”, where we had to redesign an amphitheatre and add additional buildings for new programs, all contained in a 10 000m2 site area, in the dense population of Burkina Faso, Africa.

Design Intent Our design proposal for Le Theater Populaire in Burkina Faso is inspired by the people, the culture and the creativity that the performers have to offer not only the local municipal but also the world. Utilising this inspiration, we collated all our ideas from traditional building techniques, cultural significance, and environmental awareness to apply to the design. This includes pattern symbolic reference found in traditional architecture and community interaction to allow for multi-disciplinary arts to converse and encourage creativity. A variety of disciplines are available at the Le Theater Populaire which engaged us to ensure that all user can circulate through each art into the next. We want to offer a space for participation and opportunity which we believe would benefit Ouagadougou by showcasing local talent and in turn creating an identity for the area.

Pressed Clay Brick Using traditionl methods of earth building. Clay bricks can be aquired easily and pressed to create blocks.

This will act as a natural thermal whilst still supporting the roof.

Bamboo Pattern Screens Inspired by the traditional pattern wall paintings in Inspi Burkina Faso we used layered bamboo screens to create an enclosed path. This technique also creates ventelation while still maintaining a similar trianglulated shape

Waterfront Development // Docklands, Melbourne Fall 2020

Program Used: Rhino, Blender, Autocad, Lightroom, Photoshop, Illustrator, Enscape, Premiere , Media Encoder For our Design Studio 4, we were tasked to create a masterplan to reactivate and bring back life to the Waterfront in Docklands, Melbourne. First, we needed to create a sandboxto help us get inspitaion and garther ideas before exploring our design forms. Simoustanly, we analysed and researched the history and the present of the site. This gave a better understanding of how we could improve the user experience of visiting Docklands.

Form Finding & Diagrams // We were asked to capture and diagrams a form of our choosing, we picked water, and were tasked to use a various equipment and show the making process and the components of our sandbox system. we needed to create variations of iterations based on the movement of water we have learnt.

We later expand our knowledge of water by doing a deep dive analysis of all the experiments by showing graphing the forces and parameters acting on water. After that, we did some quick iterations to get an idea of the shape we wanted before creating some final iterations.

With the brief available to us we could begin creating Schematic diagrams to communicate the zoning areas. Using multiple ideation, spacial arrangements and our foundation concept plan we created from our form finding we proposed a variety of site layouts to ensure that the most sustainable and practical idea was implemented. Our main basis for the site was to include the following:

- Aquatic Centre - Office Space - Exhibition Centre - Boat Building Workshop - Education Centre - Plaza Space for food and drink stalls.

Each one of the members were able to produce their own interpretation of the site in 1:500 as well as 1:250 scales. Once all the plans were submitted we could then combine to create the final zoning.

Exhibition Centre and Shared Office Space The Exhibition and office spaces takes inspiration predominately from the form finding process particularly where we were able to capture forms and look at them in section. These forms created unique and interesting spaces that was then worked with to create the main building mass of the site. The building mass also relates to the graph language used to observe the form finding results through the structural piers that support the structure.The materials of the building were chosen to create a fluid connection to the rest of the pier.

Solution to Sea Level Rise Continuing with the theme of separating the boat shed work shop and education centre we wanted to create each building to have a unique experience within each one. We did not want to take away and isolate the buildings completely though. Using the interconnecting paths each building is joined by bridges and entrances that flow into each other. Both buildings are also open to public with large curtain walls surrounding the areas for a look into what is happening in the site.

Solution to Sea Level Rise We wanted to incorporate the sea-level changes in our design instead of looking at it as a problem. To integrate this opportunity into our site, we added a series of unique steps in front of the aquatic centre and pools. The steps would lead down and slowly transition in to the Yarra river. The shape of steps and the paths will slightly change each passing day depending on the water level. Meaning that every time you visit the site, the experience of walking along the Yarra River and interacting with the water will be different and alter over time.

Design Intent Derry-Londonderry is old town that has ancestry dating back to 540 AD. It is the second largest city in Northern Ireland. The architecture is a mix of Classical, Gothic and Beaux Arts. There are many defensive walls from historical wars throughout the city to protect it.Between the city runs The River Foyle.This river is approximately 130 kms long. The river is used for mostly recreational activities but was a dividing point of the city to slow enemies from invading Due to such unstable historic events there are many murals, monuments and symbolic structure throughout the city. These are to recognize and understand the history and to create a bond between all.

With tensions flaring with the introduction of Brexit we request for a design that can accomodate a shared space for all people and bring them closer.Particularly focusing on a breakout spot, stage and available food and beverages for the community.We would like to make the space on the iconic Peace Bridge as a representation of the city

INTRODUCING NEW PROGRAMS There are several different programs on the bridge, including an interactive area, tunnel experience for our coffee tiles, food market stalls, recreation area and a staging area for bands. The programs are designed to become a focal point when it comes to activities and events.

Our aim is to utilize the bridge, not just as an access way to cross over the river but to interact with other people and its growing culture.

Sequences // Existing and Proposed Programs

SMELL The atmosphere created by the newly added Programs, such as the Grass, Area Food Stalls and the Tunnel Experiences, will reduce the sewerage and decaying plants smell from the river.

STAGE With Derry having a high amount of bands within the area this stage allows for locals to busk freely and amuse the crowd. Music has always been in the irish culture to tell stories THE PATH To allow for users to experience the view we have allowed for pathways to wrap around the outside to enter. In total there are 3 pathways and 4 WALLS The walls will help as a wind break allowing people within the continue with their activities. They also can convey a message to the users with historical information or messages of support

1a. Research Ingredients - Peat Moss From our research we came across a product called Peat moss which is made completely of Bio Matter What is Biomass – A natural produce material in this case, plant material, which is made of forestry byproducts or agricultural waste, that is used as a fuel or energy source.

Essentially, Peat moss is a natural compost but made in the absence of air. Peat moss is found in “Peat Bogs” which are at the base of lakes that has layered over time then removed. Peat moss is fortunately low in nitrogen. Fortunately, as spent coffee grounds are high in nitrogen and a neutral PH level. So, when the peat moss is mixed with nitrogen it

1b. Research Ingredients - Clay Although the nutrients and growth comes entirely out of the Coffee Grounds and Peat Moss we couldn’t press them together. The same result kept happening which is that the pressed pod would just fall apart as it doesn’t have any binding agent. We wanted to keep the pod completely natural as much as we can so we found clay. 3. Hydration Test The reasons for the Hydration Test is to see how the pod will react when it is mixed with water. There is always the issue of it exposed to too much water that it will then just breakdown and the plant will fall out.

Steps -Poured 100ml of water in the contain which reaches half way up pod.

-Let it rest for 30 minutes Result - Hydration Test Soil absorbs the water and begins to expand which results in the pod to begin to soak and absorb the water creating a mushy substance. This substance is then still somewhat binded together but consistency is makes it easy to fall apart. We suggest that if exposed to this much water the plant would be aready rooted to the soil behind allowing it to grow in the direction we intended.

4. Heating Test

Coffee Pod - Result

The reason why exposed the pod to extreme amount of heats is too see how it would react in the case of on going high temperatures and the forms it would take. Although the tile will only be subjected to low heat being indoors

Steps - Placed pod into baking tray and set into oven - Baked at 200 Degrees - 30 minutes left in.

Result - Heating Test Once pulled out of the oven the pod is still in tack. Although the slightest movement means complete crumble of the pod. The Clay is brittle and the soil is broken down into a sandy solution. This test was expected as most heats do break down plants and soil. We expect there is a level of maintenance when it comes to owning the tile or pod like with any plants to keep it hydrated.

The pod is made up of three different materials. 15 grams of Peat Moss (PM), 20 grams of spent coffee grounds and 30 grams of natural clay. In process, we then created a homemade press that allows for the seed pod to remove unnecessary water and the clay to set.

The result is a hard (but brittle) pod that allows for the needed boost in seeds.

Throughout the research we came to conclusions on which material will work with coffee grounds and then testing allows me to see if it will be suitable for indoor use and vertical points (huge credit to Anthony Nastasi)

Apartment 2 - Bathroom The bathroom is also facing the adjoining shop, so a garden bed is provided to make the bathroom feel less claustrophobic. The walls and floors have a concrete finish to create a natural modern look which blends competently with the garden bed. The plants and trees can create captivating shadows on the Fire-proof Concrete Wall during the day time. It has 2 vanities, a toilet, a shower for 2 people, and a step-up bathtub that overlooks the

Apartment 2 - Bedroom Since all bedrooms are facing the neighbouring building and not facing the street, there is a 1.2 metres strip of garden bed with trees and vegetations to conceal the 150mm Fire-proof Concrete Wall. An immense bi-fold door can be opened to the garden bed, entitle natural light and air to circulate the room.

It has enough space for a double bed, a built-in robe and extra storage units.

Grocery Store

Café The café consisting of bi-fold doors can open to the outdoor to allow fresh air and the atmosphere from the street, into the cafe. The dark matted walls along the timber floors gives the premise a heartfelt and cozy feel to it. The minimalist layout makes the building more spacious then it actually is and eliminates the sensation of café being isolated and confined. The café entails a toilet and a storage unit.

Apartment 2 - Living Room Apartment 2 has the least amount of exposing sunlight due to its location next to the adjacent building, to compensate the lack of natural light and air, this apartment offers the most skylights and garden beds in terms of floor areas than the other 2 apartments.

Apartment 2 has sunken Livingroom which is to separate the kitchen and the dining from the Livingroom, allowing the space to feel more open and welcoming.
