Weston; Being able to make means of making money in this situation is the best way to go and mostly this a quarantine so finding time to study is best thing as well..

Chomba; In terms of studies I think the E-learning that has been introduced to most of our schools is one of the important thing because in as much as we stay home we’ll be forced to continue our studies which will be productive at the end of the day Kennedy; Productivity is basically a product of consistent discipline! If we are going to become any productive in this period then we need to be intentionally disciplined to do what we have to do. I believe we all know or have an idea of what we should do to be productive but sadly not all of us are disciplined enough to engage. So discipline is one big factor! Let's work on discipline ourselves in this period and from there productivity will be evident!

Aaron; Well, In order to maintain productivness in life during this quarantine period, I thin we must revisit the purpose of why we are in school, business or a relationship. The best way to approach change is to be at your core - your true self, your passion, your abbilities, your approach to life - don't change. Just as Kennedy well articulated we need consistent discipline however you must note that discipline is as a result of having a reason to be disciplined. It is your purpose that puts stell to the backbone of your discipline. So the question is what is your purpose? That is where is the discipline lies.

Deborah; Well business wise,we are blessed with so much technology all around and this quarantine cannot limit us to still make money while home especially in places that are not completely locked down we can order and resell stuff and secure your income in these known hard days Del; Personlly I think sticking to our normal schedule that we had even before this time of quarantine,like waking up , sleeping, doing our studies, talking to ourloved ones, doing chores , recreational moments etc all at the same time we used to do it.

Obviously it's not going to be exctatly the same,to a lot of us there is an added spare time,like the time we used to walk to and from class or work,other personal meetings like church,dates and alike can be used to try by all means to go an extra mile to maintain the relationships bonds we have with our family and friends, partners, colleagues etc that we are not able to see due to the issue on the ground (quarantine).

Literally, especially for some in relationships who are not married,who were used to see each other from time to time,they've been forced to sort of be in some LDR kind of a set up and it will do more good to learn how to go about it , especially that most weren't prepared for this.

This can also be applied to our every day general relationship with our beloved friends and family whom we are not able to see as we used to Having said that,I also think it's of so much help to have some strong support system through out this time as one is trying to stay productive,like get in a group ,it could be on Facebook, what's app or something like that ,of positive people who are in the same boat with you, that is doing what one can to still be as productive as possible in all areas of life even during this time of quarantine.

ARE YOU STILL GOING TO SLEEP?

Joseph; Productivity during this period can be hard to be attained especially to people who were involved in mobile activities prior to the quarantine period,as this will come as a new mode of life style, nevertheless Discipline comes in the first place followed by effective planning and priotization of activities, do the most dreaded activities first and go to the least.lastly but not least reward yourself something after successful completion of planned activities, this will motivate your next time you embark on another task.

In any long distance relationship insecurity is a major enemy, therefore put away all negative thoughts about your partner and/ your relationship. I remember asking my brother how he has managed to stay in a long distance relationship with the same person for over six year's now he told me it was a matter of choosing the person over and over again even when one feels like they no longer feel like it Relationships ain't all about feelings because feelings change over time So how to preserve a long distance relationship in my opinion is by constantly reminding yourselves why you are together in the first place Also putting in extra effort to stay in touch and up to date with happenings in each other's lives

MEET THE CREATOR OF DONT RUSH CHALLENGE A 20-year-old college student was just trying to kill time and have fun with her seven friends.

In this op-ed, writer Antoinette Isama touches base with the co-creator of the viral #DontRushChallenge to learn the origin story and unpacks the importance of giving credit to internet phenomenons.

On March 22, Toluwalase Asolo, a 20year-old business management student at the University of Hull, tweeted a clip with the caption, “The boredom jumped out.” To the song of “Don’t Rush” by U.K. rap duo Young T and Bugsey, she and her seven girlfriends changed looks seamlessly while passing around a makeup brush used as a metaphorical baton. This one minute and 26-second video would go on to amass 2 million views and become the popular #DontRushChallenge. “We understand that in a period like this with nothing to do, a lot of people may slip into depression due to high levels of inactivity and idleness,” Toluwalase tells Teen Vogue. “So we decided to highlight the togetherness in isolation.”

The ladies, who have Congolese, Nigerian, Sierra Leonean and Turks and Caicos Islander origins, planned the video sequence of handing off the makeup brush and collected their respective footage for the challenge via WhatsApp. They are in their respective dorm rooms while self-distancing during the global coronavirus pandemic.

In its third week, we’ve especially seen Black women effortlessly celebrate their diverse cultures, professions, and interests all in short clips. This video challenge has shown us yet again that Black women creators have the ability to shift and maintain virality in a digital space that’s quick to erase them. Their intention with the #DontRushChallenge, according to Asolo, was to empower and encourage women to embrace their beauty with and without makeup. They wanted to incorporate what they love — fashion and beauty — with what women around the world can easily relate to. It’s important to note this recognition, as we’ve seen how Black women creators on platforms like TikTok don’t get such nods and opportunities (e.g. the “Renegade” challenge). This erasure also stems from what some have pointed out as tech bias from the developers of these platforms. However, with the #DontRushChallenge, those who participated made it a point to thread the original clip or tag the creators of the challenge to give proper credit, so it was hard to forget the faces behind this moment.

“I think it just goes to show that we never really are given our respective dues because we’re so creative and are a big part of online culture. To get this recognition means that slowly but surely Black women are getting the respect they deserve online,” Toluwalase adds.

“Additionally, it just emphasizes how much variety comes from Black women and the immense amount of beauty that is all around the world, and so when given the right platform, we are always ready to show all the way out.”

THE RISE OF COFFIN DANCE AMID COVID-19

Dancing with the coffin is an ancient tradition common in Ghana. The inhabitants of this country hire special dancers for the funeral to cheerfully send the dead to the next world. Three different videos with dancing ghanians are common on the Internet. The very first of them appeared on YouTube back in 2015.

Subsequently, other videos appeared demonstrating this tradition. Including the most popular, shots from which were distributed on memes. The video was uploaded on July 27, 2017 and gained more than 2 million views.

According to the idea, dancing blacks with coffins show that the failure in the first video ended in death for the hero. Soon, other videos of a similar format began to appear. The trend developed in March and consolidated in April 2020. The main meme feature was the use of the Astronomia track in the background.

Meaning of Coffin Dance meme Blacks with coffins is a meme alluding to a fatal outcome. In the case of videos from Tiktok, a popular genre is used – video fails. These include, for example, the meme Directed by Robert B. Weide.

In the case of ordinary memes, dancers with a coffin are harbingers of imminent death. This topic has become especially popular amid memes about the Chinese coronavirus.

EDUCATION AND COVID-19 Education and coronavirus Out of the total population of students enrolled in education globally, UNESCO estimates that over 89% are currently out of school because of COVID-19 closures. This represents 1.54 billion children and youth enrolled in school or university, including nearly 743 million girls. Over 111 million of these girls are living in the world’s least developed countries where getting an education is already a struggle.

As COVID-19 forces 743 million girls out of school in 185 countries, there is a concern that rising drop-out rates will disproportionately affect adolescent girls.

This will only exacerbate gender gaps in education and lead to increased risk of sexual exploitation, early and unintended pregnancy, and child, early and forced marriage.

Governments must take steps to mitigate the effects of school closures on girls, boys and their families.

Education authorities and schools must ensure education continues in the event of school closures.

Schools that remain open should be supported to prevent and control the spread of COVID-19, with attention paid to protecting students and staff from discrimination and stigma associated with infection.
