Spot light Newark is a forced perspective mural meant to serve as a showcase for the products of Newark’s environment: people, creations, and talents.

î “e mural will be superimposed on the street scape in the vertical (facade) and horizontal (sidewalk / street) planes.

When viewed from the proper angle, the mural forms a perfect spotlight in striking contrast to it’s surroundings.

Plaque A plaque explains the mural and instructions on how to participate in #spotlightnwk.

Photographer A marking on the ground directs photographers and viewers where to stand.

#SPOTLIGHTNWK î “e spotlight is designed to be an interactive space for the community to tell their stories, show their wares, and display their talents. î “e uniform images encouraged by the mural will serve as a common denominator to ground each photograph in Newark and connect the photographs to each other. Furthermore, each participant is invited to use the hash tag #spotlightnwk when posting to social media. Participation in the hash tag will further contextualize the images and create an online gallery curated by community.
