A FORWORD
The Cushnahan family have lived in the Derryloughan / Washingbay area for many many years. Some twenty years ago, Kevin and Noreen Cushnahan set up home at the Rann.
In the days when food and a living were a mighty daily struggle, the Rann was a copse of bushes and trees where locals of this Derryadd townland ,lamped and captured roosting birds for food .Yes for food! And this is NOW the site of Kevin and Noreens house.and surrounding shoot The Rann also itself refers to an area frequented by “the little people “who must NOT be upset or disturbed!!! Kevin says he has had partridges and game birds here before his home developed and to this day, it is a most welcoming, warm and reclusive habitat for game and wild fowl.
Kevin and Noreen warmly welcome the cocker championship and its competitors to the Rann shoot. For some ten years, Kevin, has been hosting retriever training and trialling days at this Washingbay venue, now ,however , it is the occasion and opportunity for these little spaniels to display THEIR magic to one and all .Good luck and best wishes to ALL involved in the cocker championships 2022.

As the Chairman of the IKC Cocker Championship, I would like to welcome everyone here today and I would especially like to thank the cross-channel competitors who have come to run their dogs you are very welcome. Thankfully after a number of years of restrictions we have been able to have a full schedule of events on the island of Ireland and id like to personally thank all those who have run or helped at trials this season.
I would like to thank Kevin Cushnahan for the kind invitation to hold the championships at the Rann shoot here in Co Tyrone and I am sure we will have a warm welcome and a great day, as anyone who has been to the Rann will know it’s a first class ground with a mixture of heather white grass and old woodland with a great game supply so we should be in for a fantastic day.
I would like to thank everyone who has worked so hard behind the scenes to make this Championship happen form arranging the ground or arranging the guns or anyone who will be helping out on the day in any of the many o cial jobs a big thank you and well done all . A special thanks on behalf of everyone goes to Mr. Mark Stewart who works nonstop behind the scenes to make this Championship what it has become.
