Our after-school programme is thoughtfully crafted to provide a balanced approach to personal development It's not just about learning; it's about fostering character, teamwork, and a passion for lifelong learning Our activities are planned to complement the academic studies, offering a wellrounded education that prepares students for success in all areas of life After-school activities play a vital role in reinforcing and nurturing ATL skills* ensuring our students develop essential life-long skills that extend beyond the classroom

Activities that are led by external teachers and come with an associated fee. Activities that are taught by our dedicated school teachers and outside coaches for sports and are free of charge.

Get Active with Sports



The extra-curricular sports offered such as Karate, Mindfulness, Yoga and Rugby, are a reflection of the school values and are integral to our school ethos The qualities promoted by these activities - respect, selfcontrol, discipline and mental resilience - are essential in shaping well-rounded individuals equipped for success in academics, work, and social aspects of life
The purpose of the clubs is to provide both support to students and opportunity for those who would like an extra challenge in the subject Please encourage your child to attend the clubs if they need extra help or would like an extra challenge

Experienced coaches work closely with our physical education department to ensure that every student receives top-notch training and support.
Building strong bonds
Sports bring people together. Students develop strong bonds and lifelong friendships. The camaraderie and teamwork, create a sense of unity and belonging that lasts far beyond the playing field.

Representing St Dominic's
Being part of our sports teams is an honour. Our athletes have the opportunity to represent the school in local and regional tournaments. We have consistently achieved success in these tournaments, a testament to the hard work, joy and positive attitude of our teams.

Divisions and seasons
Students are grouped into divisions according to their year of birth. Some sports are seasonal* as well as D5, D4 and D3 Girls Football/Basketball and D5, D4 and D3 Boys Basketball/Football, so in term 1 the sports will be as follows:

*If there are a large number of requests for seasonal teams to become annual, we will take this into consideration and trainings will start immediately Football and basketball will happen at different times so that interested students can participate in both
Conditions and requirements
Participation in sports is free of charge
Students taking part in SDIS sports must acquire the oficial SDIS sport kit from the supplier indicated
Past year kits are allowed
If your child is travelling on the school bus, please contact the reception, Ms Elsa Lopes elsa lopes@dominics-int org to arrange transport (late bus) to return home after training

Important information
CAN STUDENTS TRY ACTIVITIES AND SDIS SPORTS BEFORE REGISTERING?
Yes! Students can try one session.
CAN STUDENTS REGISTER FOR MORE THAN ONE ACTIVITY?
Yes! Students will have the opportunity to choose one or more activities. However, the spaces are limited.
CAN STUDENTS REGISTER FOR MORE THAN ONE SDIS SPORT?
Yes! We are pleased to offer the opportunity to participate in as many sports students want to. However, the teams have limited places and students must attend training regularly and have their own Sport Kit
WHERE DO ACTIVITIES AND SPORTS THAT PLACE?
All activities generally take place on the school campus, ensuring a convenient and safe environment For SDIS Sports, students will play friendly matches and tournaments in other schools This will be communicated to parents,
PLACES AVAILABLE
All activities and clubs have limited places and placement is decided on a first come first serve basis. The SDIS Sports Teams have limited places and students must attend training regularly and have their own official Sport Kit.
ATTENDANCE AND CANCELLATIONS
Please inform the respective coordinator if your child will not be attending a lesson or when you want to change or drop out of the activity/club/sport. For the extra-curricular activities, payment of the term must be done at the beginning of each term. In the event of a cancellation, no refunds will be made.

SCHOOL BUS AND DISMISSAL
If your child is travelling on the School Bus, please contact the reception, Ms Elsa Lopes on elsa.lopes@dominicsint.org to arrange transport (late bus) to return home after training. Students must be collected at the end of their after-school activitiy: junior school by 16h30 and Senior school by 17h30.
SPORTS EQUIPMENT
Participation in the SDIS sports is free of charge but the official SDIS sports kit is mandatory This can be bought at https://4usports.pt/
Please remember to also send a refilable water bottle, hat, snack, waterproof jacket. The sports kit contains:
