The Chairman, officers, coaches and players would like to give you, our loyal supporters, a warm (if not dry) welcome to the Mollex Stadium this afternoon. Today’s game against Taffs Well RFC is sure to be another close encounter in this Division 2 League game, and we extend to them and their supporters the same warm welcome.

This season has seen our team grow in confidence and the players are slowly and surely learning how to win. The previous win over a very good Treharris side being a good example of that.

I would like to take this opportunity, on behalf of all the coaching staff, to thank those who help “behind the scenes” to ensure that Caerphilly Rugby Club maintains a high standard, both on and off the field. There are far too many to mention in this programme but without the bar staff, catering staff, physios, ground maintenance, those on the gate, etc no game could go ahead. I would also like to acknowledge the tremendous work that is done with the Minis, Juniors and Youth players and coaches in ensuring that there is a production line of players to play in the First and Second XVs.

This club, like many, must absorb the huge jump in our on-going costs for Electricity and Gas. Your support is vital in being able to overcome these increases. Please continue to support us as you have in the past, by attending as often as you can, bring the family or a friend, and using the club whenever possible. Not only will that help the club financially it will give the players a huge lift to hear the cry of “Come on Caer” ring out in this magnificent Mollex Stadium.

For our part, the coaching staff (Gareth, Ben and I) will endeavour to bring success on the field of play.
