The project takes place in a small town's historical downtown. The placement on the site chooses to contribute to the history by meeting the street on 10th street and continuing the pattern of important building like the water towers, museum, and opera house. As such, the buildings façade joins the theme of downtown with varying brick texture. The brick is transformed into metal panels as you move towards the entrance. Windows are introduced to the penalizations of these panels to create a seemingly solid façade on the west façade. Within the building, the main spaces are separated by nature cores that offer exterior study spaces, creating an extension of the trail directly across the site. The main collections and innovation hub are provided with high, curving, glulam ceiling that diffuse and direct the light from the clearstories. This leaves the teen area and the children are safe and tucked into a private corner of the west part of the building. The library incorporates itself into the site.
