TABLE OF CONTENTS The works chosen are projects that display a variety of skill set and understanding.

Conceptual thinking, Urban design and development, Landscape and Product Design are all showcased allowing detailed work, contextual analysis and graphic diagrams and renders to explain the design process and reveal a wide range of knowledge that I have gathered in my time at Kansas State University. Amongst this knowledge, I also am able to develop a full site analysis of large scale projects analyzing physical and ecological conditions to develop a fully unified and coherent design project.

Artist Retreat: Conceptual Site Diagrams

Artist Retreat Creating Art through Visiual and Physical Experience

This design creates a contrast between the built environment + Natural environment

A visual connection from the Artist’s Refuge to the Artist’s Performance center allows a variety of oportunities and experiences

built forms contrast with the natural environment and create a cohesive communication as one moves throughout the site.

Art, performance, display, and the community are layered allowing for a rich experience on all aspects of the site

View shed East to West creates a visual experience from the refuge to the theater. The artist has the “best seat in the house.”

A Personal journey through the site allows for zen views to be revealed.

The journey throughout the site allows the view to experience the circular form of the amphitheater as an everchanging art piece.

When arriving to the destination of the Artist’s Refuge, it becomes an everychanging frame.

A frame and terraces are created, to set the stage and allow the people to occupy

Final form creates a stage for the art, a frame to be viewed from across the cliff, and creates a backdrop for the art on stage.

PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE Artist Retreat:The Bridge

Air Flow: Air space is left in between pedestrian and vehicular traffic allowing for the bridge to become more aerodynamic.

Anchor: The people and the nature become to anchor that holds together the cliffsides.

Exposed Structure: allows the user to feel completely integrated in the design, and allows a learning experience

When passing the sites multipurpose, outdoor art gallery, a bridge, acting as the symbolic anchor holding both sides of the cliff together, together, allows a transition between the public and private site conditions.

Irwin-Union Bank Creating a useable public space to diminish the dividing line of Troost Avenue LocationL Linwood Boulevard and Troost Avenue

Racial and Economical divide was strong in making troost avenue a “dividing Line” in Kansas City. This bank creates a vision that Troost Avenue can be more than a division between race and wealth. It can allow the community to come together on both the interior and exterior through a flexible floor plan allowing for different events to occur within, and through mulitpurpose public space

Regulated building form and Setbacks help define the site

Piazzale Via Roma

Orvieto is a small cliff clif town approximately 1.6 .6 Km by 0.8 Km. Km full of piazzas, small roads and parking for the communters. There is a lack ack of open green space. space The current site is a park that is over a parking garage containing a soccer field and elevated grass space that is rarely used. The identification of this site is parking instead of a park, so the intention of this design is to give the site a new identiy to activate this side of the town. This site is bound by the two major roads in Orvieto, Corso Cavour, and Via Roma making this a highly accesible site. The parking garage, garage however, directed a lot of traffic away from the site, so this design is intended to increase pedestrian access and allow the circualtion stairways from site the parking garage to become directly connected to the site.

Terraced platforms allow for multi-use space for different occasions and is directed to view the childerens park and the futbol Field. These terraces not only act as platforms for viewing, but they can hold a multitude of different events, such as Citta Slow events and Markets. This space is designed to be forcused inside the Piazzale to allow for a variety of events and intimate or public gatherings.
