DOF SPOTLIGHT: Saba Court No. 172 Contributed by Dt. Sharonda Johnson Saba Court No. 172 Pompano Beach, Fla. The City of Pompano Beach, which is nestled between West Palm Beach and Miami, has a great amount of history. It is the home to many Prince Hall Affiliated (PHA) organizations. One such organization would be none other than Saba Court No.172. The Court was created on August 4, 1975 under the leadership of the 23 Imperial Commandress Dt. Thelma M. Gordon (87). The first Illustrious Commandress of Saba Court was Dt. Zadia Tyson. rd
For the past 44 years, Saba Court No.172 has been a staple in the Northwest Pompano Beach area. The Court plans to be a service to the community again, once the Covid-19 pandemic has passed and we can safely gather. The 2020 Divan consists of the following Daughters: Dt. Wanda Smith-McKenzie-Illustrious Commandress; Dt. Sharonda Johnson- First Lieutenant Commandress; Dt. Crystal Pressey- Second Lieutenant Commandress; Dt. Nikitha Forbes- High Priestess; Dt. Patti Wright-Lane, PC-Oriental Guide; Dt. Calayn Small, PC-Recordress; Dt. Brenda Shuler, PC-Treasurer; Dt. Evelyn McKinnon, PC-First Ceremonial Daughter; Dt. Brenda Martin- Second Ceremonial Daughter; Dt. Dosica Johnson-Inside Spy, and Dt. Doris Derrico, PC-Assistant Recordress. The Deputy for the Oasis is Dt. Dosica Johnson, PC.
