Epidemiology Workshop Summary Team Leader: Nigel Paneth, MSU Report summary authors: Stacy Clifford Simplican and June Chen (Hegarty Fellows) OVERARCHING NOTIONS In the epidemiology workshop, participants identified six overarching notions that should guide DOCTRID’s research agenda in epidemiology. These overarching notions are: • • • • • •

Multi-disciplinary method Types of study Ethics Communication with public Training issues Across the life span

5 RESEARCH AREAS Participants identified important research topics and this conversation generated over forty research ideas. They then analyzed the ideas and grouped them into five thematic areas with distinct research topics. To facilitate collaboration, the group also identified DOCTRID team members that are interested in each thematic area. The five thematic area, research topics, and team members include: 1.
