Russell Plaschka

Russell Plaschka grew up on a small diversified farm in eastern Kansas and attended Kansas State University, receiving a B.S. in Agriculture Education. He spent 25 years teaching agriculture and advising FFA members. In his current role with the Kansas Department of Agriculture as the Agribusiness Development Director, he leads a team to promote agricultural growth and help connect business and industry with local secondary and post secondary institutions to create true partnerships. He is pursuing a doctorate in Leadership Communications at KSU with research focused on how and why communities determine their interest in growing specific agricultural sectors.
