Getting to Know the PAC Team: Lisa Taylor

Born and raised in Oakley, Kansas, my career aspirations varied from secretary to veterinarian to professional organizer to math teacher. In the end, I followed my love of numbers and analysis, and I received my bachelor degrees in mathematics and economics from Kansas State University in 2009. It was during my time at Kansas State that I first met Dr. Dan Thomson and went to work at the Beef Cattle Institute. I did not fully appreciate it at the time, but this experience would spark my interest for working in the beef industry.
In 2010, I moved to College Station, Texas, to begin my graduate studies in economics at Texas A&M University. Staying true to my Kansas roots, I moved back to Kansas City after completing my Master of Arts in economics in December 2011. I then spent 2.5 years with the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City as a research associate, supporting the economists in their macroeconomic research and monetary policy work. While I enjoyed the work and my colleagues at the Federal Reserve, I realized that I wanted to return to the agriculture industry and work more closely with producers. Thus, I seized the opportunity to work with PAC in July 2014. Since then, I have divided my time between data reporting and analysis, project management, general accounting responsibilities, development of training materials, and attempting to keep track of the PAC veterinarians.
In my leisure time, I enjoy playing softball and volleyball, playing Aunt Lisa to my nephews and niece, working on projects around the house, reading, and representing Kansas State in the land of Jayhawks.
