RISK MITIGATION ON YOUR CAMPUS
The paramount concern for construction at an active healthcare facility is the health and safety of patients, visitors, staff, and workers throughout construction. Understanding and evaluating the Infection Control and Interim Life Safety concerns should be an integral part of the preconstruction and construction phases of the project. Evaluating the impacted areas, risks, and control measures to implement will be an ongoing process throughout each project and early involvement of the infection control practitioner will be paramount to success.
Understanding the daily operations of the facilities, the sensitive nature of each department, and the ICRA policies set forth by the facility, are key to successfully implementing a project plan. Turner’s highly-experienced and knowledgeable team has over 30 years of combined experiencing working in and renovating active healthcare facilities. Through countless successfully completed projects, Turner has gained a reputation as having the ability to complete the most difficult and sensitive projects while remaining virtually invisible within the facility. Turner’s knowledge of how to successfully phase a project, implement infection control measures, and efficiently complete the scope of work will be invaluable to your project’s success.
For each area of construction, the Turner team can use their expertise to assist in the evaluation of risks and
appropriate controls to implement including:
Temporary Walls – Isolate construction areas from active spaces while ensuring safety and cleanliness.
Rolling ICRA Carts – Portable containment for sensitive areas like ICU, OR, and NICU to maintain sterile conditions.
Routing Controls – Barricades, tunnels, + fencing ensure safe separation between construction and operations.
HEPA + HVAC Adjustments – Maintain isolation, negative pressure, and clean airflow in critical environments.
Monitoring – Track pressure, noise, vibration, and dust levels to protect patients and staff.
Inspections + Documentation – Regular ICRA/ILSM reviews by Turner, cacilities, and infection control.

SAFETY IS THE CORE OF ALL WE BUILD
Safety is at the core of all we do—on every site, in every office, and throughout every interaction. Our Building L.I.F.E.™ program promotes a culture of vigilance, collaboration, and continuous improvement, making safety a defining value.
BUILDING L.I.F.E.
Safety is our first priority. Across all of our project sites, in our offices, and throughout our daily lives, safety shapes who we are as construction professionals. And under no circumstances will safety ever be compromised.
We continuously improve and manage risks through best practices, guidelines, and policies. This ensures our safety standards align with onsite operations, reinforcing safety for all field and project staff.
Our Building L.I.F.E.™ (Living Injury Free Everyday) program fosters a holistic safety system that
includes those closest to risks in decision-making. It promotes mutual support between management and staff and drives continuous improvement in every work process for world-class safety performance.
ACTIVE CARING
We strive to transform our company into an environment of active caring, where we take care of each other with the same consideration and concern as we would our own families to ensure the safety and well-being of all people on our sites. We believe this collective shift in both mindset and behavior will lead us to an environment absent of harm where people can be their very best selves.
